Global Purchasing Director of an international industrial Business Unit

Operating in demanding sectors—including mobility, energy and industrial equipment-this technology-driven business is entering a new phase of growth and transformation.

Purchasing is expected to become a major driver of competitiveness, innovation, resilience and value creation.

Reporting to the Business Unit's General Management and serving as a member of its Leadership Team, the Global Purchasing Director will define and implement the worldwide purchasing strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for improving economic performance, securing critical supplies, supporting new programmes and transforming the purchasing organisation.

A key priority will be to position Purchasing as a true strategic partner to R&D, Operations and Supply Chain, particularly in design-to-cost, supplier performance, risk management and industrial sourcing decisions.

We are looking for an experienced purchasing executive from a complex international industrial environment, with a proven track record in leading transformation or supporting significant business growth.

Experience in automotive, industrial equipment, energy, mobility, electronics or another technology-intensive industry would be particularly relevant.

Hands-on experience managing suppliers, teams and industrial challenges in Asia will be highly valued.

The successful candidate must be able to balance competitiveness, quality, capacity, proximity and resilience, while effectively managing supplier dependencies and geopolitical risks.

Beyond purchasing expertise, the individual must understand the economic and industrial challenges of a Business Unit, influence strategic decisions and deliver tangible results in cost, quality, delivery, innovation and security of supply.

Leadership, strategic vision, pragmatism, high standards and a strong results orientation will be essential.

and requires regular international travel. Fluency in English is essential.
