Global Public Affairs Lead: Trade, Market Access & Taxation

As trade, taxation and geopolitical developments increasingly shape business performance, competitiveness and growth opportunities, the role serves as Moët Hennessy's center of expertise in public affairs international trade policy, market access and alcohol taxation.

The role is responsible for protecting and advancing the Group's commercial interests by anticipating trade and fiscal developments, shaping policy outcomes, supporting strategic business decisions and identifying opportunities for growth across global markets.

Acting as a trusted advisor to Public Affairs leadership, the position translates complex political, regulatory and economic developments into actionable business recommendations and drives advocacy strategies that directly support the long-term competitiveness of Moët Hennessy.

The role leads MH's engagement in public affairs on international trade, excise taxation, market access barriers, free trade agreements and strategic geopolitical issues in close coordination with the business, regional management, LVMH stakeholders and external partners.

Job responsibilities

Public Affairs Trade, Taxation & Market Access Strategy

  • Develop and implement MH's strategy on international trade, taxation and market access.
  • Anticipate emerging risks and opportunities arising from tariffs, trade disputes, non-tariff barriers and regional/national taxation initiatives.
  • Advise leadership on commercial implications and strategic responses.
  • Integrate trade and fiscal considerations into broader business decision-making and planning.

Policy Development & Advocacy

  • Develop and execute advocacy strategies supporting MH's global priorities.
  • Shape MH's positions on trade, taxation and market access issues.
  • Lead engagement with governments, regulators, international organizations, EU institutions and trade negotiators across Regions and at Multilateral level.
  • Build coalitions with trade associations and strategic partners.
  • Represent MH in external forums and high-level stakeholder engagements.

Trade Agreements, Market Access & Business Growth

  • Lead MH's engagement on free trade agreements and strategic trade negotiations.
  • Identify opportunities arising from evolving trade frameworks, including market access improvements and regulatory convergence.
  • Support commercial teams in maximizing the value of trade agreements and regulatory changes.
  • Develop business cases demonstrating the commercial impact of trade and policy developments.
  • Support growth strategies through improved access to priority markets.
  • Lead MH's engagement on excise duties, alcohol taxation and related fiscal policies.
  • Monitor taxation trends and legislative developments affecting wines and spirits.
  • Develop evidence-based advocacy positions on fiscal issues.
  • Work closely with Finance and business stakeholders to assess commercial impacts and define company positions.
  • Strengthen MH's understanding and capability on taxation matters globally.

Internal Leadership & Capability Building

  • Serve as MH's internal reference point on trade, taxation and market access.
  • Build awareness and expertise across Public Affairs, Commercial, Finance, Legal, Supply Chain and regional teams.
  • Develop tools, methodologies and reporting mechanisms supporting decision-making.
  • Foster close collaboration across MH and LVMH on international trade and geopolitics.

Profile

Experience:

  • 15+ years of experience in public affairs, international trade, taxation, government relations, market access, regulatory affairs or related fields.
  • Experience gained within multinational companies, trade associations, EU institutions, governments, consultancies or law firms.
  • Demonstrated success influencing policy outcomes and managing complex stakeholder environments.
  • Experience advising senior business leaders on strategic matters.

Technical Expertise

  • Deep understanding of international trade policy, WTO frameworks, EU and bilateral trade negotiations and market access issues.
  • Strong knowledge of excise taxation and alcohol-related fiscal policies.
  • Understanding of geopolitical dynamics and their business implications.
  • Ability to combine policy expertise with commercial understanding.
