About the Job

The Global Project Head (GPH), Gastrointestinal (GI) Oncology Leader drives GI Oncology disease area strategy across multiple assets, contributes to multi-asset portfolio optimization, and late-stage asset development through comprehensive disease understanding and data‑driven decision‑making. This matrixed role reports to the Head, Solid Tumors in Oncology Development and is accountable for disease‑area focused clinical development strategy.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead GI Oncology disease‑area strategy and portfolio optimization.
  • Collaborate with asset‑oriented global product teams (GPTs) to plan and implement end‑to‑end compound strategy for gastrointestinal malignancies.
  • Represent disease‑area functions at cross‑functional global brand teams responsible for commercial brand strategy.
  • Present and discuss disease‑area strategy with key internal stakeholders, external investigators, advisory boards, and regulatory authorities.
  • Contribute to the clinical assessment of external business development opportunities in GI oncology.

About You – Education and Experience

  • MD or PhD with proven experience in solid tumour oncology clinical development.
  • 7+ years of experience spanning early‑ to late‑stage clinical research and development in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong understanding of the global drug development process and functional roles.
  • Experience with successful marketing‑authorization submissions.
  • Demonstrated leadership of cross‑functional clinical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience preparing regulatory submissions and negotiating with health authorities.
  • Experience collaborating with commercial and medical functions in launch or post‑launch settings.
  • Experience working in matrix environments and with regional alliance partnerships or co‑development.

Soft and Technical Skills

  • Strong leadership and clinical expertise in GI oncology for effective international collaboration.
  • Ability to integrate all aspects of projects and their impact on clinical strategy.
  • Excellent interpersonal, cross‑functional, and cross‑cultural communication skills.
  • Ability to define clear, challenging, and realistic goals and to appropriately assess investment and deliverables.
  • Results‑ and customer‑focused, with strong organisational awareness.

Languages

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English across cultures, functions, and seniority levels.

Benefits

The salary range for this position is €114,800.00 – €153,067. Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. Employees may be eligible to participate in company employee benefit programs.
