The Urban Transport & Urban Development Service Line is part of the Transportation Business Line of Egis. It consists of 4 main pillars (Metro, Surface Transportation, Systems and Mobility incl. upstream studies).

Metro is a key product of Egis Transportation.

Egis has delivered some of the world’s most iconic metro projects ranging from the world’s first standard gauge driverless Lyon Metro Line D in the 1990s to the latest world’s longest driverless metro network Riyadh Metro now.

Metro is a high growth market as it will contribute to the mobility of the increasing world’s population that would be expected to live in urban areas.

About the job

Egis is seeking a Global Metro Leader.

The Global Metro Leader will lead a wide range of activities as directed by the Global Metro Director. This role has a strong operational as well as an international dimension to drive successful outcomes of projects at different stages of the lifecycle.

The goal is to provide cross-functional and cross-regional expertise for the effective management and smooth exécution of high-stakes tenders and complex projects while reinforcing client trust and company reputation.

The Global Metro Leader reports directly to the Global Metro Director and although the primary focus of the role will be on Metro, the Global Metro Leader may be required to work collaboratively with other disciplines and sectors as the need arises.

The responsibilities include:

• Bids Proposals : support the Tender Team to develop compelling offers. It includes the definition of the production strategy for the tenders, coordination with the techncial and commercial teams to prepare the proposal, allocation of key people and experts and preparation of the methodology highlighting the value Egis brings with its differentiating capabilities.
• Resource mobilisation : liaise with Regional, Business and Service Line Directors and Human Resources Department to mobilise resources, both at the tender stage and for the delivery of the projects.
• Risk analysis : conduct risk and opportunity assessments including technical and contractual aspects

Project Delivery

• Project launch : ensure a robust mobilization plan is implmented that is aligned with the requirements of the projects
• Technical risks : provide support to Project Directors to manage technical risks progressively
• Technical Audit : ensure proper support to perform technical audits on critical projects
• Task Force : Lead task forces to manage the resolution of critical issues faced by projects in collaboration with the regional delivery teams.

Strategic Initiatives

The Global Metro Leader will be required to lead multiple initiatives including knowledge management, production management and technical action plan to help improve Egis’s overall performance. These initiatives could be strategic as well as operational and will require cross-regional collaborative working with clear outcomes.

Qualifications

The Global Metro Leader should ideally have a Degree in Engineering and demonstrable significant experience in rail/metro projects.

The main competencies for this role are:

• Leadership : Demonstrate considerable leadership to lead multiple activities in a cross-regional and cross-business line set-up to drive value at every stage of execution.
• Team player : Work with a team mindset where all efforts are channelled in the best interest of Egis.
• Intercultural skills : Ability to work with international teams and clients and promote a culture that rewards inclusivity and diversity
• Project Management knowledge : Understanding of engineering, commercial, financial and contractual aspects
• Project delivery : Ability to deliver significant parts of projects with clear remits and milestones
• Egis culture : Understanding of Egis stakeholders to engage producttively with muliple departments
• Analytical skills : Rapid problem structuring and synthesizing to enable decision making
• Language : Extremely proficient in English, both written and spoken is mandatory. French will be desirable as will be other language skills
