Global Lead Buyer – Medical and Scientific

In this role, your mission is to build and implement Global Procurement strategies for all activities related to Medical (Global and Local teams) and for Scientific activities, to maximize value creation.

In this role, your mission is to build and implement Global Procurement strategies for all activities related to Medical (Global and Local teams) and for Scientific activities, to maximize value creation.You will play a critical role in accelerating operational excellence, driving key procurement initiatives, and ensuring strong alignment with stakeholders at Global and across regions.

Scope

Key responsibilities

• Activities related to Medical (such as Clinical Studies, Regulatory and Pharmacovigilance Services) and Scientific (such as Quality Lab Equipment and Maintenance, Lab Supplies, Analytical Services)
• Responsible to cover these activities within Science Hub (Global, and Local) and all Quality Laboratories of Industrial sites and Development Centers (13 sites and 4 DC, with worldwide footprint)
• Spend covered: ~ 50 M€

Strategy

• Propose & implement best in class and innovative strategies for specific product families based on market intelligence, assessing risks and opportunities, aligned on budget, product lifecycle to deliver value to the businesses.
• Establish a multi annual roadmap to be executed to deliver savings for the business and to create value for the brands.
• Ensure procurement technical excellence: TCO, sustainability, Innovation, supply continuity, quality / Compliance, …
• Identify and engage at appropriate level with business partners from the businesses.

Operational

• Initiate strategic sourcing initiatives, lead sourcing projects end-to-end (RFPs, negotiations, contracting)
• Leverage synergies across countries and categories
• Drive the development of new market opportunities
• Manage supplier relationships and governance, support issue resolution when needed
• Contribute to cost optimization and value creation initiatives, Optimize Working Capital in alignment with the Group’s Payment Term Policy

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders from the various teams of the Science Hub (such as Clinical Operations Team, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, Development Centers)
• Scientific activities are managed primarily at site level
• Build strong collaboration with key stakeholders in Finance, Digital, Legal, and regional teams
• Establish effective governance and stakeholder alignment across categories.
• Act as a key partner with business teams to drive initiatives and ensure execution.

Key Deliverables

• Successful deployment and adoption of the Medical and Scientific strategies
• Delivery of key negotiations and cost optimization initiatives
• Progress on strategic sourcing projects
• Strong stakeholder alignment and governance across categories
• Experience:
• 6–10+ years in Indirect procurement, ideally with expertise in Life Sciences procurement categories
• Proven experience in global environments and complex stakeholder management
• Project Management in relationship with global suppliers
• Soft skills:
• Strong leadership and ability to influence without authority
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Results-driven, autonomous, and adaptable in fast-paced environments
• Strong continuous improvement mindset
• Technical skills:
• Advanced negotiation and strategic sourcing capabilities
• Proficiency in procurement tools and data analytics
• Solid financial acumen (cost analysis, budgeting and controlling)
• Languages: Fluent in English. French is a plus
