Global Client Development & Marketing Director (Luxury Retail)
Global Client Development & Marketing Director
Paris, France
We have been exclusively retained to appoint a Global Client Development & Marketing Director for an internationally recognised luxury Maison, headquartered in Paris.
This appointment sits at the heart of the business, connecting brand, retail, digital and commercial functions through one common objective: building lasting relationships with clients around the world while ensuring every interaction strengthens the brand's global positioning.
This is not simply a marketing appointment, nor is it purely a CRM leadership role. It is a strategic position for someone capable of shaping how a luxury brand attracts, develops and retains its most valuable clients across every international market.
The Position
Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, you will define and lead the global client development strategy while ensuring marketing activity supports both brand equity and commercial performance.
You'll oversee the complete client ecosystem, from acquisition and CRM through to client activation, personalised experiences, loyalty initiatives, VIP engagement and international events. Every programme should have a clear purpose, measurable impact and enhance the client journey without compromising the exclusivity expected from a luxury Maison.
Working across multiple international regions, you will partner with senior leaders in Retail, Communications, Digital, E-Commerce, Merchandising and Regional Management to ensure consistency globally while recognising the nuances of individual markets.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Defining the global vision for Client Development and Marketing across all international markets.
- Creating strategies that strengthen client acquisition, loyalty, retention and long-term engagement.
- Leading the evolution of the brand's global CRM strategy and client data capabilities.
- Developing innovative client experiences that reflect the standards expected of a world-leading luxury Maison.
- Driving VIP client initiatives, exclusive events and personalised engagement programmes.
- Working closely with regional leadership teams to ensure global consistency while allowing flexibility for local market opportunities.
- Establishing measurable KPIs that evaluate both commercial impact and client engagement.
- Leading international teams while developing future leaders across the business.
- Partnering with executive stakeholders on future business priorities, international expansion and long-term client strategy.
- Ensuring marketing investment delivers meaningful commercial outcomes without compromising brand integrity.
We're looking for an executive who understands that client development is no longer a support function. It is a commercial growth engine.
You will have built your career within internationally recognised luxury fashion, fine jewellery or watch brands, holding senior leadership responsibility across multiple global markets.
You are equally comfortable discussing long-term business strategy with executive leadership as you are reviewing client segmentation, CRM performance or the effectiveness of a global activation programme.
You'll possess exceptional commercial judgement, strong analytical capability and a genuine appreciation for the emotional connection clients have with luxury brands.
Most importantly, you'll understand that the most successful luxury businesses don't simply sell products. They create relationships that span generations.
Experience Required
- Significant experience leading Global Client Development, CRM or Marketing within an international luxury brand.
- Demonstrated success developing strategies across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America.
- Strong understanding of luxury consumer behaviour, clienteling and omnichannel engagement.
- Experience building CRM frameworks and data-driven client strategies at global level.
- Proven leadership of multicultural international teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management with experience working directly with executive leadership.
- Fluent English is essential. French or additional international languages would be advantageous.
