About The Role
Company We are an independent, innovative engineering consultancy advising clients in geology, energy, environment, and infrastructure. With around 230 employees across 8 locations in Germany, we work nationally and internationally on forward-looking projects. Our expertise includes the development, planning, and implementation of geological, process engineering, and energy-related solutions. Combining decades of experience, deep technical knowledge, and a clear focus on innovation and sustainability, we serve as a reliable partner for complex challenges.
Position GIS Engineer – Infrastructure Planning (m/f/d) Location: Halsbrücke/Freiberg or Chemnitz | Employment Type: Full-time/Part-time | Salary: €40,000 – €50,000 gross per year | Start Date: Immediately
The expansion of high-voltage networks determines whether wind energy reaches where it is needed. To make this possible, robust planning documents are required—documents that must withstand approval procedures and function effectively on construction sites. As a GIS Engineer for Infrastructure Planning (m/f/d), you will develop precisely these documents: managing geospatial data, resolving map-based conflicts, and laying the groundwork for concrete progress in the energy transition.
Responsibilities
- Geospatial data management, including calculations, overlays, and visualizations in GIS
- Creation of maps and plans for permitting processes and stakeholder coordination
- Data processing and analysis using Microsoft Excel
- Coordination of specialist planners and drafters within the planning team
Qualifications
- Completed university degree in Geoinformatics, Geography, Geoecology, Geosciences, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in GIS applications (ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, ArcMap)
- Preferably: experience in handling and planning complex projects
- Solid skills in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent German (minimum C1 level) and good English language skills
Benefits
- Job Security: Permanent contract with long-term perspective
- Sustainable Projects: Projects in energy and grid expansion with clear future relevance
- Work-Life Balance: Flexible working hours, remote work (2 days/week), family-friendly policies
- Compensation & Extras: €40,000 – €50,000 gross annually, 30 days vacation, special leave, profit-sharing, job bike scheme, fuel vouchers, and more
- Health & Wellness: Company health management, ergonomic workstations, sports programs, health days
- Team Culture: Autonomous work with short decision-making paths, mentoring by experienced project managers, team events, intergenerational team spirit
- Professional Development: Technical training, participation in industry conferences
We look forward to receiving your application.
