Geotechnical Engineer F/M - Ingénieur Géotechnique F/H - Éolien/Wind Offshore

Role Context

Q ENERGY is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer for an opportunity within the offshore wind sector based in Europe. This pivotal role will focus on offshore site characterization and geotechnical analysis, underpinning the development of fixed & floating foundations, mooring systems and subsea cable designs.

Ce poste stratégique est centré sur la caractérisation des sites offshore et les analyses géotechniques, afin de soutenir le développement et le design des fondations fixes et flottantes, des systèmes d'ancrage et des câbles sous-marins.

Responsibilities (English)

• Geotechnical ownership: act as technical focal point / lead, ensuring QA/QC of geotechnical deliverables and producing geotechnical inputs to relevant packages.
• Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration: interface management with relevant packages, provide soil data and geotechnical inputs for foundation/cable design, and support certification of soil data through interactions with the project certification body.
• Lead the geoscience workstreams for a bid or offshore wind project (floating & bottom-fixed), from a technical and project management perspective, including budget, schedule, risk, and procurement inputs.
• Perform quality control of geotechnical datasets, interpret survey data.
• Review technical reports and provide technical guidance.
• Write technical documentation relevant to roadmap: SOW, technical requirements, etc.
• Support certification activities of geoscience data.
• Supervise geotechnical survey operations.
• Interface with foundation/anchor design packages, scope out external conceptual design & feasibility studies.
• Contribute to and lead technical topics related to marine geotechnics.
• Support R&D activities, contributing to development of in-house geotechnical tools and their integration with structural and installation teams.
• Define Geoscience/UXO roadmaps for projects pre and post bid.
• Define associated geoscience budgets and schedules.
• Execute roadmap items from RFQ stage to deliverables certification: RFQ management, contract management.
• Provide documentation for design of foundations/cables.
• Provide geotechnical inputs to internal & external stakeholders.
• Identify and manage geotechnical risks associated with offshore wind projects and propose mitigation measures.
• Work closely with design engineers to integrate geotechnical constraints into foundation design.
• Interface on soil conditions internally and externally.
• Participate in regulatory meetings, stakeholder meetings, and community outreach initiatives.
• Share experience with the team and contribute to good technical discussions across projects.

Responsabilités (Français)

• Référent.e technique géotechnique : Agir en tant que référent.e technique en géotechnique, garantir la qualité (QA/QC) des livrables géotechniques, produire les données et analyses géotechniques nécessaires aux différents lots du projet.
• Collaboration multidisciplinaire : Assurer les interfaces avec les autres disciplines, fournir les données de sol et les données géotechniques nécessaires à la conception des fondations et des câbles, participer aux échanges avec les organismes de certification afin de garantir la validation des données géotechniques.
• Pilotage du lot Géosciences : lorsqu'nécessaire, assurer le pilotage du lot Géosciences pour la phase d'appel d’offres ou de projet (fondations fixes ou flottantes), tant sur les aspects techniques que sur la gestion de projet (budget, planning, gestion des risques, achats et consultations).
• Réaliser le contrôle qualité des jeux de données géotechniques et interpréter les données de reconnaissance de sol.
• Examiner les rapports techniques et fournir un support technique.
• Rédiger la documentation technique pertinente permettant d’établir les feuilles de routes géotechniques (cahiers des charges, spécifications techniques, etc.).
• Participer aux activités de certification des données géoscientifiques.
• Superviser les campagnes d’investigations géotechniques en mer.
• Travailler en interface avec les équipes en charge des fondations et des ancrages, ainsi qu’avec les prestataires réalisant les études de faisabilité et de conception préliminaire.
• Contribuer, et lorsque cela est pertinent, piloter les sujets techniques liés à la géotechnique marine.
• Participer aux activités de R&D, notamment au développement d’outils géotechniques internes et à leur intégration avec les équipes structures et installation.
• Définir la feuille de route Géosciences/UXO des projets en phase d’offre et de projet.
• Élaborer les budgets et les plannings associés.
• Piloter les différentes étapes, depuis les consultations (RFQ) jusqu’à la certification des livrables : gestion des appels d’offres, gestion des contrats, suivi des prestations.
• Fournir la documentation relative aux conditions de site, aux hypothèses de conception (Design Basis - Partie A) et aux autres éléments nécessaires à la conception des fondations et des câbles.
• Apporter les contributions géotechniques aux parties prenantes internes et externes (responsables des lots fondations et câbles, bureaux d’études, organismes de certification).
• Identifier les risques géotechniques liés aux projets d’éolien offshore et proposer des mesures de réduction des risques afin de garantir la sécurité, la conception, l’installation et la fiabilité des ouvrages.
• Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les ingénieurs conception afin d’intégrer les contraintes géotechniques dans le dimensionnement des fondations.
• Assurer les interfaces techniques sur les conditions de sol avec les équipes internes ainsi que sur les entreprises en charge de la conception et de l’installation.
• Participer aux réunions avec les autorités réglementaires, les parties prenantes et, le cas échéant, aux actions de concertation.
• Partager son expertise avec l’équipe et contribuer aux échanges techniques entre projets.

Requirements (English)

• MSc degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proficient written and spoken English.
• 5+ years of practical experience working within the geotechnical engineering field on offshore wind projects.
• Experience in bottom fixed project is required, experience in floating offshore wind and anchor design would be welcome.
• Knowledge and experience of the offshore geotechnical survey field: RFQ processes, contractors, equipment, laboratory testing, etc.
• Experience of working with integration of data sets and a familiarity of working with the international and local standards.
• Project management capabilities, and experience in managing large projects of site investigation and interpretation.
• Experience in integration of geophysical and geotechnical data, geotechnical interpretative reporting, use of ground models and geohazard registers.
• Knowledge of offshore design codes and industry practices.

Exigences supplémentaires (Français)

• Expérience en concept to detailed offshore foundation/anchor design.
• Field experience of marine site investigations.
• Knowledge and practical experience of GIS systems and a desire to work with these.
• Knowledge of geophysical surveys and interpretation.
• Knowledge of UXO field for offshore wind (strategy, technical requirements, etc).

France (preferred), Spain or Portugal. Flexible working arrangements are possible.
