Geologist | Environmental Management
Location: Ten Mid‑West states: Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming.
Job Overview
Provide services and support as an Environmental Remediation Services (ERS) Geologist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division, Omaha District (USACE NWO). This contract position focuses on flood management, environmental restoration, and military construction across the Missouri River Basin.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Conduct geological surveys (field and laboratory).
- Analyze soil, rock, groundwater, surface water, and sediment samples.
- Prepare geological reports and design documents.
- Act as project geologist for each task order.
- Ensure plan development, field activities, report writing, and designs meet highest quality standards.
- Apply surface and subsurface sampling techniques, drilling and sampling procedures, and maintain documentation.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4‑year college degree in geology or geological engineering.
- Minimum 3 years experience on Environmental Remediation Services (ERS) projects.
- In‑depth knowledge of geological principles and environmental regulations.
- Professional Geologist (PG) license preferred.
- Proficiency with geological software and analytical skills.
- Field work proficiency and ability to use geological sampling techniques.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Adobe Acrobat).
- Strong organizational, time‑management, and prioritization abilities.
- Leadership and interpersonal skills for effective team management.
- Adaptability to changing project requirements and priorities.
- Ability to multi‑task and pay close attention to detail.
Additional Information
Contract Position: Exempt contract contingent basis. Possible conversion to full‑time ProSidian W‑2. No sponsorship for H‑1B/TN visas. U.S. citizenship required. Background check and drug testing may be required.
Permits and Licenses: ProSidian will obtain necessary environmental, building, discharge, and other permits. Compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including TB 700‑2, NRC, DOT, MEC, HTRW regulations.
Business Tools: Microsoft Office (advanced Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), Adobe Acrobat, data analytic tools, Visio; quick learning of additional tools encouraged.
