Role : General Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting for Qonto's European entities while ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting processes , including bank reconciliation, VAT reconciliation, and monthly closings, with unwavering accuracy.
• Coordinate with local accounting firms for tax declarations and financial statements, ensure compliance with local accounting standards and reporting requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within the finance department.

About your future manager

Your manager will be David, our Lead General Accountant at Qonto.

• His path : David has built a solid foundation in accounting and finance through his diverse career, including roles as Senior Manager in Finance & Audit and as a financial auditor at KPMG.
• What he brings : Leading a team of five, David guides and mentors to streamline financial processes and drive results.

About You

• Experience : 4 to 5 years of experience, ideally in an accounting firm or in a similar corporate role, with exposure to various entities with local requirements.
• Education : Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Technical Expertise : Strong accounting fundamentals (Balance sheet, P&L, etc.), proficiency in international accounting rules, advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, SUMIFS), and experience with ERP systems (SAP knowledge is a strong plus).
• Autonomy & Mindset : Proactive and able to work autonomously on documents in foreign languages (e.g., German, Spanish) in a fast-paced environment.
• Process Improvement : Track record of identifying and implementing efficiency improvements in accounting processes.
• Languages : Fluent in French and English, capable of coordinating with international stakeholders.
