General Accountant

• Manage general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Reconcile and substantiate account balances
• Monitor fixed assets
• Assist with the preparation of monthly closings
• Prepare VAT returns
• Monitor ongoing tax compliance obligations
• Manage customs declarations and formalities related to international business activities
• Ensure compliance with accounting, tax, and administrative deadlines
• Assist in preparing documentation for statutory auditors
• Contribute to the accuracy and reliability of financial and accounting data
• Assist with the rollout of new paperless tools
• Support the automation of accounting and invoicing processes
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Finance department practices and tools
• Report to the Administrative and Finance Manager

Requirements

• Self-sufficient General Accountant
• Experience and autonomy in general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable accounting
• Proficiency in bank reconciliations and account substantiation
• Experience monitoring fixed assets and preparing monthly closings
• Knowledge of preparing VAT returns and monitoring ongoing tax compliance obligations
• Knowledge of customs declarations and formalities related to international business activities
• Ability to meet accounting, tax, and administrative deadlines
• Experience preparing documentation for statutory auditors
• Ability to contribute to the improvement of accounting and invoicing processes
• For an independent contractor arrangement: must be a certified public accountant registered with the relevant professional body
