Full-Stack Shopify Developer

• Design custom applications and back-end solutions in a Shopify environment
• Develop embedded admin apps, extensions, and automations
• Work with Admin GraphQL, metafields, metaobjects, files, markets, translations, OAuth, webhooks, quotas, and query costs
• Synchronize templates across stores and manage sections, Liquid content, and translations across markets
• Model data and offload long-running processes to job queues
• Implement idempotency, error recovery, and consistency between the database and the platform
• Perform deployments, monitoring, and production incident diagnosis
• Develop automated tests, including failure scenarios
• Maintain well-structured documentation that can be used by the team and AI agents
• Make decisions on technical scope, estimate work, and meet commitments
• Lead workshops with e-commerce and retail teams, conduct demonstrations, train and support operators
• Contribute to technical pre-sales

Requirements

• At least 5 years of full-stack web development experience, including significant experience in e-commerce
• Strong command of the Shopify ecosystem: embedded apps, Admin GraphQL, custom data, themes and Liquid, and the platform’s constraints and limitations
• Shopify Plus experience is a strong advantage
• Solid back-end experience: data modeling and SQL, job queues and asynchronous processing, idempotency, production operations, and testing
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and React
• English: fully comfortable reading technical documentation; able to communicate clearly and follow a technical discussion verbally
• Self-directed and comfortable working directly with business teams
• Ability to define scope and propose alternatives
• Comfortable working with AI development agents on a large codebase
