About the Company

Established in 2017, Infinite Orbits is a NewSpace company, based in Toulouse, pushing the boundaries of in-orbit services with cutting-edge spacecraft driven by its own Rendez-Vous solution, an advanced Autonomous Vision-Based Navigation Solution. IO has two generations of missions\"Orbit Guard\" provides Inspection and Space Situational Awareness services in GEO. Our first, OG-1 was launched on 1 May 2023, the second is launching in 2025 and the third third launching in 2026.\"Endurance\" is a docking service capable of extending the life of GEO telecom satellites, by taking over AOCS takeover for 5 years.

About the Role

As a Full-Stack Engineer on the Ground Segment Software team, you'll help design and build the software tools that the mission team uses to calculate, monitor, perform and plan operations. Among others, these tools are essential to realise flight dynamics operations from ground, and to command, control, and safely conduct rendezvous and docking operations with client spacecraft. This is a hands-on engineering role at the core of our ground infrastructure.

Job Description

Build and maintain backend services (Python, Go and Typescript) for telemetry processing and telecommanding, enabling operators to monitor and control the satellite's trajectory and state, both absolute and relative to the client spacecraft, during rendezvous and dockingDevelop operator-facing web interfaces (React, Next.js) for controlling and operating the rendezvous and docking equipment, and for verifying and validating operations before execution, including by interfacing with mission simulatorsImplement responsive, low-latency UIs backed by live data streams (e.g. WebSockets / server-sent events), keeping the operator view in sync with the spacecraftDesign and optimize data models and queries against SQL databases (PostgreSQL / time-series stores) for mission data handlingDesign and consume service APIs over gRPC and REST to integrate the MCS components and operational toolingWork with object/file storage services (e.g. MinIO, S3-compatible stores) to handle mission data, downlinked imagery and archives, including the telemetry and images that drive relative-trajectory monitoringDeploy, run, and troubleshoot services on Kubernetes across cloud environments (AWS, OVH)Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ship reliably and repeatablyWrite unit, integration, and system-level tests to keep the codebase robust and mission-ready

2-3 years of professional software engineering experienceSolid proficiency in Python, Go and TypescriptFrontend experience with React and Next.jsStrong grasp of SQL databases and data modelingExperience designing and building APIs with gRPC and RESTHands-on experience with Kubernetes and container-based deploymentExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, OVH, or equivalent)Experience with object/file storage services (MinIO, S3, or similar)Experience building CI/CD pipelinesA solid testing discipline, comfortable writing unit, integration, and system testsStrong communication skills and ability to work in a cross-disciplinary teamNice to haveExperience with space, aerospace, or other mission-critical / real-time systemsFamiliarity with messaging systems (e.g. NATS, Kafka, RabbitMQ) and event-driven architectureExposure to ground segment standards (CCSDS, ECSS/PUS, XTCE) or mission control software (YAMCS, SCOS-2000)Rust exposure
