Full-Stack Developer
About the role
Apply through our application form.
We are hiring a Full-Stack Developer to join our growing web & app team. You will help build the tools that our clients and field teams use to monitor agricultural projects, collect field data, visualise satellite and sensor data, and understand scientific reports.
You will be working principally with three other full-stack developers, but will also have the opportunity to learn from the rest of the company, such as our data architect, product team, scientists and scientific software engineers.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in working at the intersection of technology, science and the environment.
Ideally, you would have some UX/UI design experience, making data-driven decisions to create intuitive interfaces that enable our clients to explore and understand scientific reports and datasets.
It also helps if you have an interest in working with charts, graphs, maps and geospatial datasets. We are doing some neat stuff using recent innovations in artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud-based geospatial technologies and Google Cloud Platform.
The role is in-person at Station F in Paris, France .
What you’ll do
- Develop modern web-app functionalities and visualisations with React/TypeScript, Next.js, MapLibre and Google Cloud Platform APIs
- Build iOS and Android mobile apps for offline fieldwork using React Native/TypeScript
- Integrate and display data collected in the field from sensors and mobile apps
- Collaborate with the product team to shape technical and UX decisions
- Help iterate on product features by incorporating feedback from clients, field teams, internal users and data from our monitoring tools
What we’re looking for
- A university degree in the domain of software engineering
- The precise degree matters less than having the right skillset!
- At least four years of related work experience
- Working knowledge of TypeScript /JavaScript (Python is a plus)
- Experience with a front-end framework (ideally React)
- Bonus: UI/UX design experience
- Working knowledge of databases/data warehouses (e.g. Postgres, BigQuery)
- Attention to detail
- Organised, flexible and self-sufficient
- Keen interest in learning new technologies
French is not a requirement as we use English in the office and across the company (though it’s useful for day-to-day life).
