Teaching profile

The successful candidate will join the pedagogical team in the Mechanical Engineering department to teach on the engineering degree programme, this covering the core curriculum (first and second years L1, L2) and, potentially, the Master’s programme (M1, M2).

He/she will be expected to contribute to teaching activities (lectures, tutorials, practical sessions and project workshops), as well as to the pedagogical design and development of the Department’s courses. The courses in question cover quality management, production organisation and management, logistics and supply chain management, within the engineering degree programme (full-time student programmes and their equivalent apprenticeship programmes). He/she will also be involved in supervising work placements and apprentices on the engineering programme specialising in Integrated Production and Logistics.

The successful candidate will be involved in the department’s outreach activities (communications, open days, science festivals, work placement days, etc.).

An ability to implement innovative teaching methods (serious games, the flipped classroom, etc.) would be an advantage. Furthermore, experience in developing international courses, dual degree programmes, Erasmus+ projects or other European initiatives would be an advantage. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of English-medium teaching, the internationalisation of the department’s degree programmes, and initiatives carried out within the framework of the Sorbonne University Alliance, the European SUNRISE alliance and UTC’s other international partnerships.

He/she will contribute to the educational reform projects of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the institution.

He/she will also be required to take on the teaching responsibilities associated with the department.

Research profile

The successful candidate will join the Integrated Systems: Product/Process team at the Roberval laboratory.

As a senior scientist, they will play an active role in the day-to-day running and coordination of the team and the unit.

They will help to strengthen the team’s international outreach and collaborations and lead the group’s work on the scientific theme of product/process diversity management.

The successful candidate will be required to present a research project in the field of product/process diversity management, and more specifically in mass customization, offering innovative proposals for decision support at both the product level and in terms of production organization. They must demonstrate their ability to develop innovative models, methods and tools for managing product and process diversity, from the customer’s order through to delivery, and even through to the end of the product’s life cycle.

He/she will be required to lead his/her own research projects within the Integrated Systems: Product/Process team and demonstrate an ability to engage with the socio-economic sector. He/she will be expected to make significant contributions to the team’s international reputation by developing high-calibre projects and playing an active role in international collaborations.

He/she will benefit from the experience of the Integrated Systems: Product/Process team and its internationally recognized scientific potential, as well as from a dynamic research environment that supports ambitious initiatives and projects at both national and international levels
