CentraleSupélec is a leading French 'Grande École' and a public research university. It operates under the joint authority of theMinistry of Higher Education and Research and the Ministry of Industry. Itscore missions include educating high-level global and specialised engineers,Bachelor’s and Master of Sciences, conducting cutting-edge research inengineering and systems sciences, and providing continuing professionaleducation programs. As part of its development, CentraleSupélec is looking fora Professor to join its Rennes campus and conduct research within the WIPCOMteam, in the Signal and Communication Department of the IETR (Institute ofElectronics and Digital Technologies, UMR CNR 6164).

The Rennes campus of CentraleSupélec offers training in thegeneral engineering program, in the FISA track (Apprenticeship EngineeringTraining) and the FISE track (Student Status Engineering Training), coveringthe three years of the engineering study cycle. In the fall of 2025, the Rennescampus launched four specialized engineering programs, including one in"Digital Systems". The recruited candidate will have the primarymission of teaching in these programs.

Organized into six departments and thirteen thematicresearch teams, the IETR conducts work addressing multiple scientificchallenges, mainly related to the digital transformation of society. Located inBrittany (Rennes, Saint-Brieuc, Lannion, Coëtquidan) and Pays de la Loire(Nantes, Angers, La Roche-sur-Yon), the IETR brings together over 350collaborators from its six founding institutions: CNRS (INSIS and INS2I),CentraleSupélec, INSA Rennes, ENS Rennes, Nantes University, and the Universityof Rennes.

Teaching responsabilities

The recruited person will participate in teaching thefollowing courses: wireless communications, digital communications, signalprocessing for communication systems, information theory, optimization theoryand resource allocation, multi-user communications, communication engineering,wireless networks (5G, 6G and beyond), low-power communications, integratedsensing and communications.

These courses are mainly intended for students enrolled inthe "Digital Systems" engineering specialty program but also forother programs at the School. The candidate will also need to develop anddeliver a graduate-level training offer in telecommunications systems. Theselected candidate will also be expected to supervise student projects andinternships. Finally, he/she must be able to teach in English.

Research responsabilities

The WIPCOM team at IETR will host the recruited candidate.This team, part of the Signal and Communication department, isinterdisciplinary, conducting fundamental and applied research on communicationmodels that consider waves and physical coherence, performance analysis, signalprocessing, and optimization algorithms for efficient transmission andprocessing of information in communication networks. The team's researchactivities focus on the following main thematic areas:

• Signal processing and information theory
• System security
• Energy-efficient artificial intelligence
• Distributed processing and communications

The research activities of the recruited individual mustalign with one or more of these research areas to make significantcontributions. The activity will also include supervising interns, PhDstudents, and postdoctoral researchers, as well as participating in researchprojects (collaborative at national and international levels, bilateral, etc.).Finally, candidates must demonstrate their motivation and ability to conductinternational academic research by publishing their results in leading journals.They must also demonstrate their ability to conduct research in collaborationwith companies (CIFRE contracts, industrial chairs, etc.). Experience withindustrial partners will be a major asset. We expect candidates to takethe initiative to contribute to the development and implementationoflarge-scale projects (ANR projects, European projects, research projects withindustrial partners, etc.).
