PROJECT FRAMEWORK
- Location : Cessy (France)
- Plant Type : Helium Refrigeration Plant (High Luminosity LHC Upgrade)
- Discipline : Multidisciplinary Site Management
- Start Date : June 2025
- Project Duration : 12 months (until June 2026)
- Act as the client's representative and primary point of contact at the CERN construction site.
- Set up and manage a site-specific construction team with clear reporting lines.
- Ensure full implementation of Health & Safety (HSE), Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), and risk assessment measures in line with project-specific and CERN standards.
- Oversee site execution, including work inside deep underground caverns (~80m) and above-ground facilities (SHM17, SD17, US17).
- Coordinate all construction activities and subcontractors, including mechanical installation, piping, steel structures, corrosion protection, insulation, and basic E&I works.
- Monitor compliance with the project schedule, budget, and technical requirements.
- Conduct and document regular inspections (HSE, QA/QC, cost, and schedule).
- Manage warehousing and logistics, including incoming inspections.
- Lead weekly/monthly progress and coordination meetings with all stakeholders.
- Check and approve site documentation: progress reports, variation orders, contractor invoices, claims, and construction logs.
- Support pre-commissioning activities and mechanical completion.
- Act as key interface with CERN staff, emergency services, and project authorities.
- Maintain a compliant, safe, and well-documented worksite from mobilization to close-out.
- Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience managing complex industrial construction projects, ideally in EPCenvironments.
- Proven leadership on large-scale projects involving underground and technical installations.
- Strong command of site coordination, interface management, and cross-disciplinary supervision.
- Comprehensive understanding of HSE regulations, especially in multinational research environments.
- Experience with public-sector clients or scientific institutions (e.g., CERN) is a plus.
- Excellent command of English; knowledge of French or German is an advantage.
