The Opportunity
We are recruiting an experienced FPSO Marine System Engineer to oversee all design, engineering, and construction activities performed by the FPSO Contractor and its vendors related to hull systems. The role holder will act as the primary point of interface with the Classification Society on all engineering matters related to hull systems, working within an international, multi-cultural project environment based at the Contractor's premises with frequent missions aboard.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that documents issued comply with project specifications, Class rules, international standards, and regulations
- Verify that documents align with the overall operating philosophy and functional requirements in coordination with field operations representatives
- Contribute to the technical evaluation of hull systems engineering, procurement, construction, and installation, and review/approve deliverables from the FPSO Contractor and its vendors
- Participate in project meetings and reviews (design reviews, interface meetings, HAZIDs/HAZOPs, technical reviews, constructability reviews, workshops) throughout engineering, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases
- Interact and coordinate with other disciplines - Process, Piping, Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Instrumentation, ICSS, Structure, and Corrosion - to ensure a robust, optimized hull systems design in compliance with project specifications
- Liaise with Topsides discipline engineers and Safety lead engineers to ensure inter-discipline checks
- Follow up on interface issues pertaining to hull systems and facilitate their resolution
- Monitor Classification Society activities on all technical matters related to hull systems, ensuring Class comments are properly addressed by Contractors and Vendors for timely issuance of Class and Flag certificates
- Prepare project documentation as needed
- Support the procurement team by following up on the technical activities of vendors supplying hull systems equipment
- In coordination with the QA/QC team, participate in ITP definition, witness hold points at vendor fabrication sites, and attend FAT for hull systems equipment
- Attend onboard tests for marine systems
- Assist and report to the Hull Manager, highlighting areas of concern, cost, and schedule deviations
- Propose positions to the Hull Manager regarding deviation, exemption, or modification requests
- Liaise with head office specialists for arbitration/resolution of technical issues when required
- Contribute to the project's lessons learned by liaising regularly with head office specialists and issuing a close-out report on the above activities

Qualifications & Experience Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering
- 10+ years' professional experience, with specialization in hull systems for Oil & Gas platforms and proven experience on FPSOs
- Strong knowledge and experience in hull systems for FPSOs and offloading operations
- Strong knowledge of international O&G standards (particularly IMO), Bureau Veritas classification rules, and OCIMF recommendations
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Excellent organizational skills and commitment to meeting deadlinesStrong problem-solving skills for complex and integrated processes
- Fluent in English
