Primary Objective

Reporting directly to the ADC (Diabetes Care) Controller in France, the FP&A Manager will oversee France’s financial planning and analysis activities, ensuring accuracy of forecasts, compliance with internal controls, and alignment with commercial objectives.

  • Lead the France LBE (Last Best Estimate) process, ensuring high standards of forecast accuracy and alignment with the Commercial Demand Review (CDR) by business partnering with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage one direct reporting relationship.
  • Coordinate and manage forecast accuracy goals and targets throughout France mainland and overseas.
  • Lead all FP&A activities for France, including maintenance of LBE submissions, monthly closing and daily sales reporting.
  • Issue strategic recommendations to facilitate and optimize commercial positions (channel profitability, product/partnerships, new product implementation, end‑of‑life).
  • Ensure that internal controls are applied and properly implemented in compliance with Abbott’s internal standards, policies and procedures.

Main Accountabilities

  • Ensure models and business analyses are completed accurately and on time.
  • Contribute to the achievement of forecast accuracy KPIs by working closely with the Demand Manager and Commercial Excellence.
  • Perform financial planning and actuals analysis for France mainland and overseas across channels.
  • Ensure that all activities comply with quality system requirements.

Closing

  • Manage month‑end close (monthly, quarterly, yearly) in interaction with financial teams and commercial stakeholders, especially gross‑to‑net sales and expenses.
  • Prepare and validate accruals and commissions related to sales (gross‑to‑net, government rebates, commissions to pharmacy chains).
  • Prepare and validate accruals for SG&A (OPEX) spend, freight & distribution, and bonus/tax.
  • Review and validate journal entries for B2B/B2C pharmacy sales in coordination with the financial team.
  • Ensure requested bookings are properly recorded and match expectations.

Reporting / Forecasting

  • Perform gap analysis between actuals and forecasts by P&L line and balance sheet line; identify risks/opportunities and develop mitigation plans.
  • Prepare and validate reporting packages on actuals vs. forecasts for P&L & B/S, focusing on sales, gross margin fall‑through, and accounts receivable/DSO.
  • Identify root causes for variance, develop analysis plans, and control measures to reduce gaps.
  • Prepare presentation decks for highlights, S&OP, Commercial Demand Review and LBE.
  • Prepare forecasting packages in DODECA and reporting templates for EMEA/Global.
  • Work on risks/opportunities alternative scenarios to assess financial impacts.
  • Resubmit and recycle forecasts as per timelines and guidance.

Budgetary Controls and Efficiency

  • Track forecast accuracy and identify growth opportunities in sales and margin.
  • Review specific spend and propose yearly action plans to reduce costs on identified buckets with Procurement.
  • Optimize cash‑flow management by improving ageing customer balance, doubtful customers, DPO, and DSO.

Recommendation on Strategy

  • Support profitability analysis to design optimized commercial offers (hospitals, pharmacies).
  • Provide recommendations to orient strategy toward the most profitable/high‑potential business areas.

Internal Controls

  • Support and relay best practices for internal controls via training and ad‑hoc checks, especially on purchasing, no‑charge products, and samples.

Profile

  • Master’s degree or above from a Business School, major in Finance, Cost Control, or Audit.
  • 10 to 15 years of finance experience in multinational companies.
  • High level of numeracy.
  • Strong organizational and delegation skills to manage workload across multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate and present cross‑functionally.
  • Ability to handle pressured timelines calmly.
  • Patience and understanding to coach and develop direct reports.
  • English: Good level.
  • Role based in Rungis.
