Job Overview
Reporting to the Production Manager at Gindre Duchavany, the Foundry Shop Manager is responsible for his or her sector, for organizing and leading a team, and for optimizing the resources and tools at his or her disposal to meet production, quality, deadline, and safety objectives. As the technical lead for the foundry shop, their role is to provide support to these teams to ensure the proper maintenance of the facility.
Responsibilities
- Manage your team to achieve operational excellence by developing versatility and skills
- Conduct annual follow-up interviews
- Facilitate internal communication within the team and with other company departments
- Participate in the deployment of the company's quality policy and ensure compliance with the various standards
- Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and conduct safety observations
- Ensure that employees are continuously made aware of the various risks associated with foundry operations
- Ensure that the various maintenance tasks (first-level and preventive) are carried out properly and on time to keep the facility in good working order; report any deviations
- Ensure that process parameters are properly monitored and trigger an alert in the event of a deviation
- Ensure that the various regulatory inspections of the workshop’s equipment are carried out
- Lead safety/improvement actions
- Provide technical support to the production team
- Provide training for new hires and periodic refresher training for existing employees
- Find technical solutions to operator problems or identify the appropriate internal contacts
- Ensure that the various consumables used in the foundry comply with specifications and that the necessary inventory is available, and alert the relevant departments in the event of any deviations
- Participate in the development and approval of various documents (operating procedures, monitoring plans, etc.) related to the foundry’s operations
- Monitor technical developments to identify potential improvement plans
Interface with Other Departments
The Manager interfaces with other departments to coordinate activities and ensure alignment with company-wide objectives.
Profile / Qualifications
- Foundry Engineering Program
- Significant experience in a similar industrial environment
- Field person
- Ability and aptitude for management and coordination
- Computer skills
- Technical knowledge
