Founding Operator France
The Role
As a Founding Operator at Gigs, you're the founding member of our operations in France.
You're accountable for launching into a country where Gigs has never operated, building the operational foundation from scratch and embedding it into our centralized platform teams. Alongside your GTM counterpart, you’ll build Gigs local presence from zero to an operational, thriving, and compliant business, replicating our best‑practices from existing markets and establishing new ones.
You're earning Gigs the right to operate in France and building the engine room the rest of the business runs on. You're the one person who holds the full operational and regulatory picture in‑country, and the local face of Gigs to regulators, carriers, and infrastructure partners. As the business grows, you'll have the opportunity to build a local team around you and shape how operations function in France for the long run.
Salary range
- EU: €130,000 - 170,000
(The final offer depends on your background, skills, and how you perform through the process. We're open to considering outlier candidates, which may result in an adjustment to the scope and compensation)
What You Will Do
- Own the end‑to‑end operational and regulatory launch plan for France: sequencing workstreams, tracking milestones, surfacing risks before they become delays
- Stand up the operational foundation: legal entity setup, billing and tax structure, data compliance, local ops infrastructure, testing, and any market‑specific product requirements
- Lead the regulatory entry process: map required authorizations (MVNO/reseller, local entity, etc.), build the in‑country regulator relationship, and drive approvals to completion
- Coordinate across internal specialists—supply, legal, finance, product, engineering—to keep all teams aligned, unblocked, and moving to the same timeline. Partner closely with the GTM Lead France so operational readiness and commercial launch move in lockstep
- Own the long‑term operational relationship with our local carrier and vendor partners—integration, SLAs, ongoing performance, commercial reviews, and escalations
- Build and document the market playbook so each launch is faster and smarter than the last
- Define what "success" looks like for the market from launch to scale
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in market expansion, operations, or consulting at a high‑growth tech company, ideally in fintech, payments, or telecom (or another regulated vertical where you had to earn the right to operate)
- A track record of launching something from zero: you’ve owned a market, country, or product launch end‑to‑end and had a real outcome to defend
- Structured and relentless as a project driver: you hold multiple parallel workstreams (regulatory, technical, commercial, people) without losing the thread, and surface blockers before they become delays
- Analytically sharp and decisive: you make sound calls with incomplete information, document your reasoning, and adjust fast when you’re wrong
- Direct experience operating across multiple countries or jurisdictions is required; candidates without genuine international operational experience will struggle in this role
- Can easily flex between driving in granular government licensing meetings and cross‑functional planning sessions
- Fluent in French (required); additional European or globally relevant languages are a plus
