The role: Founding Lawyer – Tax

You're the founding partner who builds and owns our tax practice. You run the tax side of complex deals end to end, from holding structures and LBO acquisition structuring to management packages, fund and carry structures, refinancings, reorganisations and exits, bringing the senior judgment that lets a deal go out the door with your name on it. As a founding partner, you shape how the practice runs, how the firm grows, and how AI does the heavy lifting while you do the signing-off.

What you'll do

• Own the tax workstream on complex transactions - LBOs and private equity deals, M&A, venture and growth financings, reorganisations and exits - as the signing-off partner.
• Structure and document deals: acquisition and holding structures, debt push-down and interest deductibility, participation exemption, withholding tax, management and sweet equity packages, employee incentive plans, and the tax provisions in SPAs, shareholders' agreements and financing documents.
• Handle tax due diligence, rulings and dealings with the authorities, and provide senior-level sign-off on structuring and risk, building on AI-generated drafts and analyses.
• Turn every matter into reusable platform assets: encoded playbooks, structuring memos, model clauses and review checklists that compound the firm's edge.
• Help shape the firm's direction, culture, and growth as a founding member of the partnership.

Qualifications and requirements

• Qualified to practice as a lawyer (or admitted tax adviser with equivalent standing).
• Minimum 7 years of post-qualification experience in transactional tax - LBO and M&A structuring, private equity and venture financing - with hands-on deal experience.
• Strong drafting reflexes, a bias to action, and the standing to serve as the senior signing authority.
