What you'll do

• Build and lead our engineering organization.
• Recruit exceptional AI and software engineers.
• Ship production-quality AI products at startup speed.
• Design scalable architecture for millions of AI interactions.
• Create an engineering culture obsessed with quality, ownership and execution.
• Use AI coding tools to dramatically increase engineering velocity.
• Work directly with the CEO on product strategy and technical direction.
• Help evolve this role into CTO as the company scales.

What success looks like

Within your first year you will:

• Build a high-performing engineering team.
• Increase engineering velocity.
• Reduce bugs and production incidents.
• Ship major AI capabilities continuously.
• Create an engineering culture where ownership beats process.
• Become the technical leader the company scales around.

What we're looking for

Required:

• 7–15 years building software.
• Strong backend and distributed systems experience.
• Hands-on experience building AI or LLM-powered products.
• Excellent system design skills.
• Comfortable writing production code every day.
• Experience mentoring engineers.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Bonus:

• Built AI agents.
• Experience with inference optimization.
• Experience with RAG, evaluation pipelines, MCPs, vector databases or AI infrastructure.
• Startup experience (Series A/B/C).
