Founding AI Engineer

Our client operates in the FinTech / financial data sector. You’ll own the AI strategy end-to-end—from data ingestion and document pipelines to LLM-powered features used daily by finance professionals. This is a high-autonomy role where you’ll partner closely with product and engineering to ship production-grade systems, set standards, and choose the right tools for performance and cost.

• Build and own scraping, parsing, and structuring pipelines for complex financial documents (reports, filings, PDFs at scale).
• Design and ship LLM-powered product features such as semantic search, document understanding, and AI-assisted analysis.
• Architect and maintain RAG pipelines, embedding infrastructure, and evaluation workflows on a GCP-based stack.
• Select models, frameworks, and tooling (open-source and proprietary) based on reliability, latency, and cost-performance tradeoffs.
• Deliver internal AI tools that accelerate research and decision workflows across teams.
• Implement AI-driven operational automations (e.g., lead scoring, content generation, developer productivity tooling).
• Define quality, security, and reliability standards aligned with GDPR and DORA expectations.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong Python skills.
• Proven experience shipping ML/GenAI features to production (not only prototypes), ideally chat, doc intelligence, or scraping-heavy systems.
• Hands-on experience with modern LLM ecosystems (e.g., OpenAI/Anthropic/Mistral, LangChain/LlamaIndex, or equivalents).
• Strong RAG fundamentals: vector databases, embeddings, retrieval strategies, and evaluation.
• Solid SQL and data engineering foundations (pipelines, schemas, performance).
• Ability to communicate clearly with product, engineering, and non-technical stakeholders.
• Professional English (written and spoken).
