Footwear Developer – PLM & Product Data Focus

To achieve this operational and stylistic revolution, we are looking for a rigorous, detail-driven, and highly organized Footwear Developer to own the data backbone of our product development process.

Core Responsibilities

Reporting directly to and partnering with the Lead Footwear Developer, you will be the guardian of product data accuracy and the operational backbone of our development process — ensuring the PLM system, Tech Packs, BOMs, and sample tracking are always reliable, current, and audit-ready.

1. PLM Ownership & Data Management (Priority)

• Own the PLM system end-to-end: create, update, and maintain all product data with rigor and consistency.
• Ensure the PLM is the single source of truth — real-time accuracy to secure mass production launches and margin calculations.
• Act as the primary point of contact for any PLM-related data query across Design, Merchandising, and Sourcing teams.
• Prepare, update, and manage technical files independently, from first draft through to production release.
• Ensure Tech Packs reflect the latest construction, material, and supplier information at every stage.

3. BOM Management

• Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials: materials, components, colors, supplier codes, and revision history.
• Track and log all revisions to guarantee full traceability across seasons and production stages.

4. SMS Coordination & Sample Tracking

• Coordinate all Salesman Samples (SMS): track approvals, deadlines, and status across all stakeholders.
• Monitor and log prototype, confirmation, SMS, and production samples to ensure nothing is lost in the process.
• Maintain the standardized photographic and physical sample archive for full traceability (Design, Merchandising, Sales).

5. Supplier & Factory Communication

• Manage daily email and communication follow-up with factories and suppliers (local and international).
• Relay technical clarifications and follow up on outstanding data/documentation needs to keep timelines on track.

6. Product Development Support

• Support the Lead Footwear Developer on prototyping stages (vamp, fitting, samples) and outsole mold validation as needed.
• Assist in translating design briefs into technical specifications when required.

Candidate Profile

You are a highly organized, detail-obsessed professional who thrives on structure, accuracy, and process — someone who sees data integrity as mission-critical, not administrative overhead.

• Experience: Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in Footwear Development, PLM administration, or technical product data management within the fashion, sneaker, or performance sport industry.
• Technical Skills:
• Advanced proficiency in PLM systems (Tech Pack creation & BOM management) — this is a core requirement, not a plus.
• Solid understanding of footwear construction (upper, outsole, pattern making, leather, textile, and synthetic materials) to interpret and validate technical data accurately.
• Good command of graphic tools (Illustrator/Photoshop) for image management and technical document updating is a strong plus.
• Soft Skills:
• Exceptionally organized, rigorous, and self-driven — comfortable owning a database as a single source of truth.
• Strong team spirit and excellent cross-functional communication (daily connection with Design, Merchandising, Sourcing).
• Resilience and flexibility within a fast-paced, transforming environment.
• Languages: Fluent English (written and spoken) is mandatory for daily communication with our international factories and partners.
