Footwear Designer

VEJA is looking for a full-time Footwear Designer (permanent contract) to join its Paris headquarters.

Within the Studio department, you will be part of the Design team, whose mission is to develop VEJA’s future models. Reporting to the Footwear Design Manager, you will collaborate closely with both the Collection and Development teams.

Your mission

Your primary objective will be to design new footwear models and ensure their evolution throughout the development process, in close collaboration with technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspiration research to enrich initial briefs, refine product direction, and monitor innovation trends
• Explore and develop creative concepts (uppers and/or soles)
• Participate in collection meetings with senior leadership to present and refine design proposals
• Lead your projects end-to-end , ensuring quality, timelines, and successful integration into the collection
• Work closely with the Development team to create technical sheets and follow up on product development
• Support and promote each project to the Sales and Communication teams , through to market launch

Profile

You hold a degree in Design, Applied Arts, Footwear Engineering, Product Development, or Textile Design , and have initial experience within a design studio.

Experience or a project in the footwear industry is a strong plus.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented , with the ability to manage multiple projects
• Curious, proactive, and hands‑on — you enjoy experimenting, learning, and making the most of available tools
• Strong interest in fashion, footwear, textiles, and materials
• A team player with a humble mindset , strong interpersonal skills, and empathy
• Comfortable working in collaborative and cross‑functional environments

Technical skills

• Proficient in MacOS environment
• Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Knowledge of AI tools is a plus

Languages

• Portuguese : Fluent or bilingual (nice to have)
