WHAT YOU'LL BE UP TO
We are seeking a hands‑on Fluidics & Mechanical Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team. This pivotal role will be instrumental in developing, validating, and automating the fluidics‑centric functions and modules for our DNA‑based data storage systems.
You’ll be the hands‑on technical lead for the fluidics‑centric functions and modules needed for the project. Maintaining compliance with the global system architecture, you will lead the module development, from specification to qualification. You will be guiding the internal and external resources assigned to the project, while working closely with the various teams within Biomemory.
You will be the fluidics referent within Biomemory and will share your expertise as the team will be growing and the projects multiplying. You will contribute to the continuous automation and quality improvement effort within the System Engineering department.

YOUR MAIN GIGS
- Hands‑on Lead : You’ll be the go‑to technical expert for all the fluidics stuff in our DNA storage systems.
- Owner : You’ll take charge of fluidics projects from start to finish—specs, architecture, design, testing, and making sure it’s all qualified.
- Referent : You’ll be the main fluidics expert as the team grows and projects multiply.
- Team Player : You’ll work closely with the biotech, hardware, software, and electronics crews to make sure everything fits together smoothly.
- Builder : You’ll design and build test setups, log the data, and make sure we can trace everything for continuous improvement.
- Automate : Help us keep improving our automation and quality processes.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Smart Stuff : You need a Bachelor's or Master's in engineering, physics or similar, with focus on fluidics, mechanics, and material science (biophysics is a bonus!).
- Experience (5+ years) : You’ve gotta have solid experience designing and running fluidics systems, ideally for commercial products in biotech, lab automation, or similar fields.
- Wet Skills : You need to be strong on fluid containment, sealing, cross‑contamination, and understanding materials/cleanliness in wet environments.
- Tech Savvy : Comfortable with automation and embedded control—you can turn manual steps into slick automated systems.
- Problem Solver : You love a good challenge and are great at finding creative, effective solutions.
- Resourceful : You know when to use off‑the‑shelf parts and when to invent something new to save time and money.
- Documentation Pro : Familiar with test planning, figuring out failures, and keeping neat, traceable documentation.
- Communication : Fluent in English is a must, and French is a big plus!
