Flight Dynamics Engineer
Established in 2017, Infinite Orbits is a NewSpace company, based in Toulouse, pushing the boundaries of in-orbit services with cutting-edge spacecraft driven by its own Rendez-Vous solution, an advanced Autonomous Vision-Based Navigation Solution. IO has two generations of missions
\n"Orbit Guard" provides Inspection and Space Situational Awareness services in GEO.
\n"Endurance" is a docking service capable of extending the life of GEO telecom satellites, by taking over AOCS takeover for 5 years.
About the Role\nWe are seeking a Flight Dynamics Engineer to support the definition, design, and operational preparation of flight dynamics solutions for rendezvous, proximity operations (RPO), and docking missions. Working closely with mission operations, Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC), and software teams, you will support the development, validation, and maintenance of the flight dynamics systems, and operational products required to safely execute complex satellite manoeuvres.
\nThis role spans the full mission lifecycle, from concept refinement and system design through verification, validation, operational readiness, and mission support. You will contribute to the preparation of flight dynamics products and procedures, ensuring robust and reliable support for spacecraft operations in both nominal and contingency scenarios.
Job Description\nDefine and design flight dynamics concepts, analyses, and operational strategies for RPO and docking missions.
\nDevelop, configure, and validate flight dynamics software, tools, and operational products supporting mission preparation and execution.
\nDevelop and verify rendezvous and docking trajectories, approach strategies, and contingency scenarios.
\nGenerate, analyze, and validate spacecraft maneuver plans while assessing propulsion system performance and operational constraints.
\nSupport mission analysis, simulations, rehearsals, and end-to-end operational validation campaigns.
\nProduce, maintain, and improve flight dynamics operational procedures, mission products and technical documentation.
\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to define mission requirements, operational concepts, and system interfaces.
\nContribute to the verification and validation of flight dynamics algorithms, software, and operational workflows.
\nSupport mission readiness reviews and provide technical expertise during mission preparation and operational execution when required.
\nPlan and monitor the delivery schedule for flight dynamics products and documentation.
Requirements\nSelf-motivated with a proactive approach, strong ownership, and attention to detail.
\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related engineering or scientific discipline.
\nAt least 5 years of experience in spacecraft flight dynamics, including orbit determination, trajectory design, maneuver planning, attitude analysis, and satellite navigation.
\nExperience in the definition and design of flight dynamics systems.
\nKnowledge of rendezvous, proximity operations, and docking mission design principles.
\nFamiliarity with space mission operations, mission planning, or spacecraft operations concepts.
\nExperience using flight dynamics analysis tools such as GMAT, Orekit, STK, FreeFlyer, or equivalent.
\nProgramming experience in Python, Java, or similar engineering languages.
\nFamiliarity with Unix/Linux environments and engineering software development workflows.
\nAbility to analyze complex technical problems and develop practical engineering solutions.
\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
What we offer\nThe opportunity to be part of an international team transforming the space industry.
\nA creative and innovative work environment where ideas turn into reality.
