Flight Control Actuation Leader

Are you an expert in actuation systems and mechatronics? Do you want to play a pivotal role in a highly innovative aerospace program?

On behalf of an external aviation client, we are seeking an Electro-Mechanical Actuation Leader who takes on complete technical leadership for the development of specific actuators across a new aircraft program. As the technical lead, you will manage the development lifecycle of the actuators and collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for the development of specific actuators required for the aircraft.
• Coordinate technical activities and interface directly with Flight Controls, Safety, and Structures teams, as well as external suppliers.
• Contribute to aircraft-level architectural trade-offs in collaboration with systems architects.
• Analyze power requirements and identify installation constraints (localization, power supply, control bus).
• Write comprehensive technical specifications covering design, production, installation, and maintenance.
• Draft actuator testing procedures and system integration plans.
• Support production, ground testing, and flight testing phases.
• Contribute to the drafting of mandatory aerospace certification documents.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience within the aerospace industry , specifically focused on design or maintenance.
• Strong background in mechatronics and ElectroMechanical Actuators (EMA) , covering mechanical, electronic, and control aspects. Candidates with strong hydraulic actuation experience combined with smaller EMA experience in aerospace are highly encouraged to apply (aerospace experience is prioritized over non-aero pure EMA focus).
• Proven experience with associated aerospace certification processes . Proficiency in CAD tools, behavioral simulation methodologies, and scientific computing languages.
• Knowledge Assets: Notions of aerodynamics and aeroelasticity are expected; familiarity with flight dynamics and flight qualities is a strong plus.
• Language: Fluent English is required.
