Job Description

Your Mission

You will join a firmware team of around ten people. The team develops the embedded software inside Arturia's hardware instruments.

You will work with the electronics, software, product, and project teams throughout development. The work ranges from drivers for flash memory, displays, touch interfaces, and audio codecs to product features such as sequencers, synthesis, and audio processing.

You will also take the firmware lead on a project. You will coordinate the firmware work, keep the project team informed, and contribute to architecture and component choices. The role may include wider technical leadership, mentoring, and improvements to our tools and ways of working.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test embedded software in C and C++.
  • Develop and maintain device drivers and product features.
  • Write reliable, efficient, and maintainable code.
  • Take part in architecture reviews, code reviews, sprint planning, and project meetings.
  • Investigate problems and fix bugs in products already in use.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation.
  • Work closely with the other teams involved in product development.
  • Lead firmware development on a project and act as its main firmware contact.
  • Assess project complexity, estimate the work, and maintain the firmware backlog.
  • Contribute to architecture, technical choices, and electronic component selection.

Requirements

  • A degree in electronic engineering, embedded systems, computer science, or a related subject.
  • Experience developing embedded software in C and C++.
  • A good understanding of microcontrollers and the interaction between hardware and software.
  • Experience with protocols and peripherals such as I2C, SPI, flash memory, displays, touch interfaces, or audio codecs.
  • A careful approach to testing, debugging, code quality, and documentation.
  • The ability to work well with people from different technical backgrounds.
  • A professional level of English.
  • Experience with Agile development is useful.
  • An interest in music, audio technology, or electronic musical instruments would be welcome.

This is a permanent, full time position based in Montbonnot-Saint-Martin, near Grenoble. The office is easy to reach by bus or bicycle. You can work remotely for up to two days per week.
