Finite Element Method Engineer (Space Hardware) – Toulouse, France (On-site)

Are you passionate about applying advanced simulation techniques to real-world hardware? We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer specialising in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to join a cutting‑edge engineering team working on next‑generation space systems.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of the structural integrity of high-performance, compact mechanisms , contributing from early design stages through to testing and validation. You’ll operate at the intersection of simulation, mechanical design, and experimental verification , directly influencing product architecture and performance.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and refine FEM models (meshing, boundary conditions, load cases, material models)
• Perform structural analyses (static, modal, dynamic) across components and assemblies
• Interpret simulation results and drive design improvements
• Support material and manufacturing process selection
• Define and execute environmental and mechanical testing (vibration, shock, thermal, TVAC)
• Correlate simulation results with physical test data

What We’re Looking For

• Degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Materials Engineering
• ~5+ years of experience in FEA within an industrial setting
• Proficiency in tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, Nastran, or similar
• Strong knowledge of structural dynamics, materials, and vibration analysis
• Experience with test validation and data interpretation
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation
