Overview

The Finance Manager will report to the Plant Controller and Regional Controller on a dotted-line basis. They will manage a local team and work closely with shared services and other divisions in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with Finance & Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Treasury, Tax, HRBR, and other functions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the local accounting team (develop skills and knowledge).
  • Work closely with the shared services team to ensure data accuracy and provide guidance and process improvements as needed.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and financial reporting.
  • Manage cash flow, monitor expenses, and identify areas for cost reduction.
  • Manage month-end/year-end processes including the preparation of journals and validation of accounts; preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements in local and US GAAP.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with local/US GAAP accounting standards, internal control policies, and procedures defined at national, regional, and global levels.
  • Prepare and manage accurate and timely tax (VAT), customs, and social filings.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to support business requirements.
  • Liaise with external/internal auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
  • Perform and support ad-hoc financial analyses and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in accounting or a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in finance, accounting, or related roles (5–10 years).
  • Advanced knowledge of French accounting and tax-related legislation.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ERPs.
  • Experience working in industrial and international environments is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAP is advantageous.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal (French & English mandatory), and ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates strong intellectual curiosity and an open mindset, proactively seeking new perspectives and innovative solutions.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to evolving business needs, navigate ambiguity, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Drives a culture of continuous improvement by challenging existing processes, identifying efficiency opportunities, and implementing pragmatic solutions.
