Financial manager

Job Summary

The Finance Manager reports to the Plant Controller and works on a dotted line basis with the Regional Controller. The role involves managing a local accounting team and collaborating closely with shared services and other business functions (Finance & Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Treasury, Tax, HR, etc.). The position operates in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop the local accounting team.
• Collaborate with the shared services team to ensure data accuracy and provide guidance and process improvements.
• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and financial reporting.
• Manage cash flow, monitor expenses, and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Lead month‑end/year‑end processes, including preparing journals and validating accounts.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements in local and US GAAP.
• Ensure compliance with Local and US GAAP accounting standards, internal control policies, and procedures at national, regional, and global levels.
• Prepare and manage accurate and timely tax (VAT, customs, and social) filings.
• Collaborate with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis and project support as assigned.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related role.
• Advanced knowledge of French accounting and tax legislation.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Experience in an industrial or international environment is a plus.
• Knowledge of SAP is advantageous.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in French and English (mandatory).
• Ability to explain financial concepts to non‑financial stakeholders.
