Job Description

Responsibilities

You’ll join the finance team as Financial Controller, reporting to Jean-François, our VP Finance. It’s the right seat for someone who wants to see the whole finance function of a scaling industrial company.

Controlling & reporting

• Own the month-end close: accuracy of cost allocations, accruals, prepaids and intercompany across our French, US and Japanese entities
• Analyze financial performance against budget and targets; explain variances to the VP Finance and leadership
• Prepare the monthly reporting package (P&L, cash, KPIs) for management, the board and investors
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting cycles

Operations & cash

• Invoice customers and monitor collections; follow up on overdue payments with Sales and Deployment
• Prepare supplier and payroll-related bank payments
• Track down and collect missing supporting documents (invoices, POs, expense receipts) and drive the team to keep them clean

Building the function

• Improve internal finance processes and tooling, including using AI tools to automate collection, matching and reconciliation work
• Take over bookkeeping (AP, AR, bank, accruals, prepaids) from our external accountant over the next 12-18 months
• Support audit, tax and grant-related requests (CIR, BPI, etc.)

Preferred Experience

Inbolt values end-to-end ownership , high rigor , and a hands-on curiosity . We move fast while staying precise, with a proactive, autonomous, results-driven mindset and strong collaboration with engineering teams.

• 3-4 years of experience in controlling, accounting or audit: ideally a mix (e.g. audit or expertise-comptable followed by an in-house role)
• Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business (DCG, DSCG, Master CCA or equivalent)
• Solid understanding of French GAAP, financial statements and month-end mechanics
• Comfortable with financial analysis and budget tracking
• Advanced Excel / Google Sheets
• Familiarity with accounting or ERP software (Pennylane, Sage, NetSuite or similar)
• Fluent in French and English: both required, as you’ll work with our US and Japanese teams

Additional Plus

• Experience in a startup/fast-paced environment
• Experience in leveraging or implementing AI solutions to improve and streamline financial processes.
