Financial Analyst (GE) – World Bank Group Treasury

Responsibilities

• Contribute to technical advisory through missions, ad‑hoc consultations, workshops, conferences, and webinars on asset management (governance, investment policy, asset allocation), responsible investing, risk management, and other areas of official sector asset management.
• Produce knowledge and research content relevant to Trust Funds, RAMP members and other clients, including applied research papers/notes with emphasis on public asset management.
• Advance knowledge and expertise in strategic asset allocation, responsible investing, risk management, and official sector asset management, while monitoring market developments and recent trends.
• Design, develop, and implement quantitative models and provide quantitative research for client advisory and investment products.
• Develop new investment products in coordination with relevant units in the Treasury.
• Facilitate collaboration and cooperation across the department, VPU, World Bank business units, clients, development partners, research centers, and industry experts.
• Maintain relationships with clients and interact with World Bank Finance Partners and other business units (e.g., Legal, ITS) to support delivery of the work program.
• Enhance RAMP program communication, marketing, and branding to expand outreach activities.
• Participate in additional projects as needed within the department.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher qualification in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent; professional certification (e.g., CFA) is a plus.
• Two years of work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in economics and finance, preferably with a public or private asset owner, capital markets department, or international organization.
• Strong background in economic or financial modeling, such as econometrics, modern portfolio theory, and optimization applied to asset allocation models for fixed‑income and multi‑asset class portfolios; macro‑financial climate modeling experience is a plus.
• Capacity to produce research material (working papers, research notes, reports).
• Programming experience with Python, Matlab, Julia or similar tools required; familiarity with Bloomberg or other major trading and risk systems desirable.
• Ability to introduce new ideas and implement innovative financial solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; experience giving presentations and interacting with a broad range of stakeholders.
• Proven capacity to multi‑task, deliver results and respond quickly to requests.
• Fluency in English required; proficiency in French, Spanish or other languages is an asset.
• Original thinking, quick learning, strong initiative, and attention to detail.
• Strong team‑player with excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to a team‑oriented, multicultural environment and high ethical standards.
