Financial Analyst - Modelling
Nexans has successfully completed the first phase of its "New Nexans" transformation, launched in 2018. Finance Opportunity
The Finance organization is looking for a skilled individual to bring the following responsibilities:
- Manage the regular update of the modelling tool (Nexans Mid‑term plan)
- Contribute to strategic projects and financial planning exercises (budgeting, long‑term plan, scenarios)
The position will be based in Courbevoie (La Défense) until 2026, and then in Neuilly‑sur‑Seine following the relocation of Nexans’ headquarters. The role reports to the Group Deputy CFO.
Areas of Responsibility
Corporate Financial Modelling Activities
- Maintain, develop, and expand the Group's Financial Corporate Model (mid‑term plan), ensuring it is up‑to‑date and accurately reflects the company's financial performance
- Regularly update the Financial Corporate Model, review financial forecasts prepared by operations, and compare Nexans' model to research analysts' papers
- Prepare supporting materials for management in advance of investor conferences and financial results releases based on the Group's Financial Corporate Model
- Stay up‑to‑date with financial and industry trends and incorporate them into the Financial Corporate Model
- Provide information to the consolidation team to value assets, including impairment testing and deferred tax analysis, and contribute to the analysis of these impairment tests
- Improve the tools used to prepare the mid‑term plan and integrate these tools in the “controlling tools” ecosystem
- Proactively propose changes to the process so that it also incorporates a top‑down approach
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
The role requires collaboration with employees at all levels of the organization, including senior operations and finance executives. It also involves preparing documentation for the executive committees and board meetings.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- A Master's degree or equivalent in Economics or Finance from a top‑tier university
- A minimum of 5 years of successful experience related to business modeling (through a similar role in another company, transaction service, market analysts, etc.)
- Strong quantitative skills, including extensive experience with financial models and valuation techniques
- Ability to read and understand financial statements in all aspects (business performance, financing & derivatives, tax, etc.) – good knowledge of IFRS rules
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; knowledge of Power BI is an asset
- Excellent proficiency in both French and English (oral and written)
- Ability to work effectively in a team and in a culturally diverse environment
