Finance Systems Engineer
Join Pigment: The AI Platform Redefining Business Planning
Pigment is an AI‑powered business planning and performance management platform that helps teams from Finance to HR build, adapt, and align strategic plans in real time.
At Pigment, we are rewriting the rules of business planning. To build the future of our own product, our internal Finance team must operate like a high‑performing engineering squad. We don't just execute tasks; we architect systems.
As a Finance Engineer
Reporting directly to the Head of FinOps, your mission is to treat the entire Finance stack as a machine: designing automated data pipelines, building production‑ready apps via Pigment's Modeller Agents, and ensuring our financial infrastructure scales seamlessly as we grow. The position is Hybrid, meaning 3x per week from the office, no remote possibilities.
What Will You Do:
1. Systems Architecture & Modeling (50%)
- Architect the Machine: Design, build, and optimize multidimensional models and processes within Pigment for internal Accounting (P2P, QTC, R2R, etc.), Cash Management, and RevOps use cases.
- Bridge the Gap: Translate complex accounting policies, billing structures, and revenue recognition rules into clean, scalable, logic‑based data flows.
- Tool‑Agnostic Infrastructure: Ensure seamless data mapping between upstream systems (Zip, Navan, Salesforce) and our ERP ecosystem (NetSuite), maintaining a bulletproof single source of truth.
2. AI Engineering & Process Automation (30%)
- Prompt Engineering & Agents: Leverage LLMs and Pigment’s native AI capabilities to build automated reporting agents.
- Smart Automation: Deploy workflows (via Workflow automation tool N8N or APIs) to automate month‑end closing tasks, anomaly detection, and real‑time cash forecasting.
- Continuous Close: Actively scout and test next‑generation Fintech tools to move the Finance department toward a fully automated, real‑time audit‑ready state.
3. Governance, Support & Evolution (20%)
- Code Mentality: Maintain clear technical documentation, schemas, and playbooks for our finance stack—treating financial logic with the same rigor as product code.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the existing FP&A Modeler/Architect to maintain a unified data dictionary across the entire company.
- Long‑term Roadmap: Support the team's evolution as we prepare to fully internalize and optimize our ERP (NetSuite) architecture in early 2027.
Who You Are:
- Experience: 3 to 6 years of experience in FinOps, RevOps, or as a Finance Business Analyst / Analytics Engineer within a fast‑growing tech/SaaS company.
- The Builder Mindset: High skills in multidimensional modeling (Pigment, PowerBi, etc.) or a strong background in data manipulation (Advanced SQL, Python, or expert‑level logic). AI‑Curious: You understand how to prompt LLMs, use APIs, and are excited about deploying AI agents to replace repetitive human processes.
- Financial Fluency: You understand Accounting principles, P&L mechanics, and Cash flows. You can hold a deep conversation with our Finance team and translate their requirements into system logic.
- Education: Degree in Engineering, Data Science, MIAGE, or Business School with a heavy focus on Business Intelligence / Information Systems.
- Languages: French and English.
