⌘Role Overview

We are looking for a FinOps Manager to structure, scale, and industrialize our financial operations as Timeleft grows internationally (subscriptions, multicurrency, multi-country).

This newly created role sits at the core of the business model and will ensure revenue reliability, optimize cash, strengthen compliance, and drive financial performance through data and processes.

You will act as a business partner across product, support, data, and growth teams, designing a robust Operating Model that supports our scale.

⌘Key Responsibilities

1. Order-to-Cash / Revenue Ops

  • Own the full cycle: invoicing, collections, refunds, and payment dispute management.
  • Define and monitor revenue recognition rules (IFRS/local GAAP) for single tickets and subscriptions.
  • Ensure the quality of sales data (pricing, taxes, discounts, subscription duration, country).

2. Purchase-to-Pay / Accounts Payable & Tipalti

  • Own the P2P process: vendor onboarding/validation, invoices, approvals, and payments.
  • Run Accounts Payable operations, track due dates, and prioritize cash outflows.
  • Execute and optimize payments via Tipalti (workflows, controls, continuous improvement).
  • Reconcile AP and manage vendor disputes with internal teams.

3. Cash & Payment Operations

  • Daily cash monitoring, short-term forecasting, and alerts.
  • Optimize PSP/payment solutions (acceptance rate, costs, chargebacks).
  • Operational management of chargebacks/fraud with Customer Support and Product.

4. Accounting Ops & Close

  • Support monthly close: cut-off, accruals, matching, and substantiation of revenue/customers/PSP/AP accounts.
  • Prepare documentation for external accountants/CPAs and audits.
  • Document processes and internal controls.

5. Process, Tools & Automation

  • Map and improve Finance workflows (billing, P2P, refunds, reporting, taxes).
  • Own Finance Ops tools (ERP/accounting, Tipalti, billing/subscription tools, BI).
  • Automate and reduce manual work.

6. Tax & Compliance Ops

  • Manage tax compliance with support from the Avalara tax engine.
  • Set up, monitor, and control taxes (VAT / sales tax / GST) by country.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors and prepare tax audits.
  • Stay on top of subscription-related obligations, e-invoicing, etc.

7. Reporting & Business Partnering

  • Finance Ops KPIs: Gross Margin, OPEX percentage, cash/runway, refund rate, platform fees.
  • Support the planning & forecasting process with Finance and business teams.
  • Own the Operating Model: structure, maintain, and share key operational assumptions (top-line assumptions, performance ads assumptions, pricing, cohorts, OPEX, etc.).
  • Scenario modeling: build and maintain scenarios (base / best / worst), assess business impact, and provide recommendations.
  • Partner with Customer Support, Product, Data, and Growth to solve root causes and steer performance.

⌘Skills & Competencies

Must Have

  • 4–7 years in Finance Operations, Accounting Ops, O2C or P2P within SaaS, marketplace, or subscription businesses.
  • Strong experience in Accounts Payable and P2P flows (Tipalti or similar).
  • Solid understanding of subscription revenue recognition (MRR, deferred revenue, cancellations, proration).
  • Deep knowledge of PSP/payment flows (Stripe/Adyen/Checkout), refunds & chargebacks.
  • Experience supporting monthly close and financial controls.
  • Strong data mindset: BI proficiency + Excel/Sheets, light SQL or no-code tools.
  • Proven experience designing processes and internal control frameworks.
  • Professional English in an international environment.

Nice to Have

  • Multi-entity / multi-currency / multi-tax exposure.
  • Experience with Avalara or other tax engines.
  • Ownership or implementation of subscription billing tools (Chargebee, Recurly, Zuora).
  • Experience in scale-ups or hypergrowth contexts with high transaction volumes.
  • Automation skills (Zapier/Make, basic scripting).

Soft skills

  • Ownership & service mindset — you build reliable processes for the whole org.
  • Extreme rigor and attention to detail, paired with top-down perspective.
  • Proactive: identify anomalies before they turn into problems.
  • Clear communication with non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong prioritization skills in fast-moving environments.
  • Continuous improvement and “build & scale” mindset.

What’s in it for you?

  • Key role at the core of Timeleft’s business model.
  • Opportunity to build and scale the Finance Ops function from the ground up.
  • International exposure (multi-country, multi-currency).
  • Direct collaboration with leadership → rapid career acceleration.

  • Employee stock options.
  • Take part in Timeleft dinners and experience our mission firsthand—help fight loneliness in big cities.
