About Us

sunday is building the fastest, simplest way to pay in restaurants. With a quick scan of a QR code, diners can pay, tip, and leave in about 10 seconds. We believe great products should feel obvious, not complicated, and we focus relentlessly on keeping things simple while earning trust from restaurants and guests at every interaction. Today, sunday powers payments in thousands of restaurants across the US, UK, and France, helping operators turn tables faster, increase tips, and unlock valuable insights. We push ourselves to go beyond what’s expected, building with ownership, moving fast, and scaling with ambition as we tackle our biggest growth opportunity in the US.

About The Role As a Finance Manager (Europe) at sunday, your goal is simple: don’t just measure European financial performance, run it. You’ll be the finance partner to our commercial and operations teams, ensuring the reliability of our reporting, and one of the architects of a finance function that scales. You report directly to our CFO, with strong exposure to the executive team and strategic decisions. This role sits at the intersection of Accounting, FP&A, and Business Operations. It’s not just a reporting position, it’s a co-pilot role. You build, analyze, challenge, and influence. Join early, grow fast, and shape the journey!

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial reporting & control
    • You actively contribute to the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for European entities, in coordination with the Accounting Manager
    • You ensure the reliability of the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
    • You analyze variances vs. budget and forecast, and provide clear, actionable explanations to leadership
    • You maintain strong internal controls and ensure readiness for audits
    • You support statutory reporting and the relationship with external auditors
  • Performance management & P&L
    • You monitor revenue, margins, and cost structure across all European markets
    • You work closely with the FP&A team to build and track rolling budgets and forecasts
    • You proactively identify risks and opportunities, and bring them to leadership before they become issues
    • You lead unit economics analyses: take rate, CAC/LTV, margin per customer or per site
  • Business partnering
    • You are the real finance partner for the commercial and operations teams in Europe
    • You provide decision-ready analysis on pricing, market expansion, and cost-optimization initiatives
    • You translate complex financial insights into simple, compelling recommendations—and influence decisions
  • Cash & working capital
    • You improve AR processes, invoicing, and collections
    • You build clear, forward-looking visibility on cash
    • You work to reduce DSO and improve collection rates
  • Construction & scalability of the finance function
    • You build reliable, scalable reporting—recognized by leadership as the single source of truth
    • You develop KPI dashboards and rigorous forecasting models
    • You automate recurring processes to free up time for what truly matters
    • You raise the level of collaboration between FP&A, Accounting, and the US teams

About You

  • You have between 3 to 6 years of experience in finance, ideally in a scale-up or post-Series C FinTech
  • You master P&L analysis: you break down performance into concrete levers and explain what is actually happening, not just what the numbers say on the surface
  • You have built reliable financial models in a high-growth environment—you are forward-looking, not just focused on the rearview mirror
  • You take ownership: you identify problems and solve them without waiting to be asked
  • You have a strong business sense: you understand how a company creates value, and you think impact before reporting
  • You know how to communicate and influence: you turn complex numbers into clear decisions, and you get teams moving

Strong nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with SaaS / FinTech metrics (take rate, contribution margin, CAC/LTV)
  • Hands-on experience with BI tools or SQL to access data independently
  • Interest in automation and finance process structuring
  • (Bonus) Proficiency in an ERP such as NetSuite

What will set you apart

  • You are proactively curious: you surface insights before anyone asks
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and can make decisions with imperfect data
  • You think 80/20: you cut to what matters and deliver fast, without compromising on rigor
  • You challenge constructively: you ask the right questions, including the hard ones
  • You are fluent in both French and English
  • Paris-based, available in the office 3 days per week

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary + Stock Options
  • A great office in the heart of Paris (10th arrondissement) with a balance of in-person and remote work
  • Free Vacation Policy
  • 100% Employer-Covered Health Insurance for you and your children
  • Ticket Restaurant
  • 50% of your public transportation covered

Interview Process

  • Share your story: Application with resume
  • Let’s get to know each other through a phone screen interview
  • Meet with the hiring manager
  • Impress your future colleagues with a case study
  • Meet with a Leader
  • Reference Checks (3 most recent managers)
  • Offer: we want you

Thank you for taking the time to apply, and looking forward to getting to know you!
