Finance Manager
Take ownership of financial performance across two West African operations and play a central role in supporting sustainable, profitable growth.
We are representing a well-established international maritime and logistics organisation seeking a French-speaking Finance Manager for a regional position based across Togo and Benin . This is a hands‑on leadership role with responsibility for accounting, financial planning, reporting, cash flow, governance, and business partnering.
The position is being advertised in France, but candidates must be prepared to relocate to West Africa and work across the organisation's operations in both Togo and Benin.
What You'll Be Doing
- Take ownership of financial performance across the assigned operations, including budgeting, forecasting, monthly closing, profitability, balance sheet management, and cash flow.
- Oversee end-to-end accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and statutory reporting.
- Strengthen working capital management by monitoring receivables, payables, cash conversion, and days sales outstanding.
- Ensure compliance with local tax requirements, OHADA standards, IFRS, group accounting policies, internal controls, and statutory obligations.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, manage relationships with auditors and advisers, and ensure accurate tax filings.
- Act as a finance business partner to local management, operations, and commercial teams, supporting pricing, tenders, contracts, investments, and business decisions.
- Improve finance systems, reporting tools, dashboards, data quality, automation, and standardised financial processes.
- Lead and develop finance supervisors and accountants, setting clear objectives and promoting accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
About You
- You have strong experience in finance, accounting, financial control, or a related discipline, ideally within logistics, freight forwarding, maritime services, or a similar operational industry.
- You have a solid understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, working capital, and cash flow management.
- You have practical experience of OHADA accounting standards and a strong understanding of IFRS .
- You have worked closely with operational and commercial teams and can translate financial information into clear business recommendations.
- You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. A professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or CPA would be advantageous.
- You are fluent in French and English , with the ability to communicate effectively with local teams and international stakeholders.
- You bring a hands-on, ownership-led approach and are comfortable working in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience working in Africa would be advantageous, but candidates with relevant international experience and a genuine commitment to relocating will also be considered.
