Finance Controller

Position Title: Controlling Manager (Commercial Finance)

Location: Colombes 92700, Paris, France

Reports to: Senior Finance Manager, France-Benelux

Job Summary

The Controlling Manager is a key finance business partner to the Commercial organization (Sales & Marketing), responsible for driving financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making in the France-Benelux business. This role combines commercial finance business partnering and financial planning & analysis, with a strong focus on profitability, growth, and optimization.

Responsibilities

Performance Management & Reporting

• Lead the monthly closing for a channel or segment, including variance analysis vs. budget/forecast/prior year
• Deliver high-quality P&L reporting and business insights to leadership
• Track key KPIs (sales, margin, mix, etc.) and drive action plans

Financial Planning & Forecasting

• Support Sales with scenario planning and financial modeling
• Provide clear visibility on key commercial drivers and risks/opportunities
• Ensure alignment of commercial initiatives with financial targets

Commercial Finance Business Partnering

• Support pricing, promotions, and customer negotiations through financial analysis
• Validate business cases and ensure return on investment for commercial initiatives
• Challenge decisions and propose actions to improve profitability and growth

Financial Control & Compliance

• Monitor commercial accruals (e.g., trade promotions, rebates) and provisions
• Support balance sheet ownership related to commercial activities
• Guarantee compliance with Group policies and audit requirements

Process Improvement & Tools

• Drive improvements in forecasting accuracy, reporting efficiency, and data quality
• Leverage tools such as Power BI, SAP, and business warehouse AFO (Analysis for Office)
• Contribute to finance transformation and harmonization initiatives

Team Leadership & Key Stakeholders

• Manage and develop 1 direct report (controller)
• Ensure strong coordination with local Finance team members & Senior Finance Manager
• Work closely with Key Account Managers, National Account Managers, Sales Directors, Supply Chain, Finance Shared Service Centre (Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable)
• Provide analysis to regional FP&A and global segments leads as required

Key Qualifications

• 7+ years in Controlling / Commercial Finance
• Strong exposure to FMCG / retail / commercial environments
• Strong analytical skills
• Advanced user in Excel and financial systems (SAP, AFO, Power BI)
• Ability to translate numbers into business insights and actions
• High level of business acumen and influencing skills
• Strong communicator – able to interact with senior stakeholders & non-Finance
• Fluent in English & French, both oral and written
• Hands‑on, proactive, and results‑driven
• Strong business partner with a challenging but constructive mindset
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced, transforming environment
