We are now looking for a Field Service Manager to join our Energy Services organization. In this role, you will lead field service operations and resource management activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery for our power plant customers. This role is based in Surgères (France).

As a key member of the Services leadership team, you will be responsible for developing people, driving operational excellence, optimizing resource utilization, and strengthening customer partnerships that support our mission of delivering lifecycle value to our customers.

What you will do

As Field Service Manager, you will be accountable for the delivery of field service activities within your area of responsibility, ensuring performance, customer satisfaction, and alignment with Wärtsilä Energy's business objectives.

  • Leading and coordinating field service operations to ensure the successful execution of maintenance, overhaul, troubleshooting, and technical support activities.
  • Managing the allocation and deployment of field service resources to deliver safe, efficient, and customer-focused services.
  • Leading and developing a team of field service coordinators and resource management professionals through coaching, objective setting, and performance management.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service quality, operational efficiency, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborating with regional operations teams, technical experts, sales, and business functions to forecast resource requirements and ensure workforce readiness.
  • Monitoring resource utilization, service delivery performance, and operational KPIs to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Building trusted relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with Wärtsilä's quality, environmental, health, and safety standards across all field service activities.
  • Supporting the development of a high-performing and inclusive culture that encourages learning, innovation, and operational excellence.

Who you are

You are a customer-focused leader who thrives in a dynamic service environment. You combine operational discipline with strong people leadership and enjoy working collaboratively across teams and cultures.

We believe you have:

  • Experience in field service, power generation, energy, industrial operations, maintenance, or a related technical environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing operational teams and resources.
  • Strong understanding of service delivery, workforce planning, and operational resource management.
  • Experience building and maintaining customer relationships in a service-oriented business.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality management practices.
  • The ability to lead change, inspire teams, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
