Rates Trader – Analyst

This position is part of Morgan Stanley’s Fixed Income Division, focusing on Rates products within the EMEA region.

Responsibilities

• Trade Rates products, including Bonds, Swaps, and Inflation, across the EMEA region.
• Act as a market maker for Rates products, executing relative‑value trading and hedging strategies.
• Create and distribute daily and intra‑daily market information on customer flows, trade ideas, and general commentary.
• Manage daily profit and loss reporting, applying specialized quantitative techniques for relative‑value analysis, valuation, and complex financial modelling.

Qualifications & Experience

• Quantitative bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Finance, Maths, Economics, or Engineering).
• Previous experience with language models or machine learning is considered beneficial.
• Expert knowledge of Fixed Income products with a specialization in Interest Rates.
• Strong work ethic and daily discipline to maintain consistent markets for clients and support daily information flow across NY and HK desks.
• Proven experience building models for trading and risk management.
• Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive trading colour and present trading ideas and strategies.
• Excellent networking skills, comfortable liaising with clients, sales, and traders.
• Strong people‑management skills, experience dealing with infrastructure partners and building trading systems and analytics.
