The Fixed Income Division (FID) is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products, Securitized Products, and Municipal Securities. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manage risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast‑paced and constantly changing global markets. The Commodities Division is a market leader in energy, metals, and agricultural product trading worldwide whose professionals trade in both physical and derivative commodity risk.

What will you be doing?

The FXEM division is looking for a highly motivated quantitative strategist at Associate level to help with FX electronic trading analysis and research content creation in our Paris office. The candidate will help build models and tools to optimize our algorithmic micro and macro execution strategies and generate client‑facing content to attract and retain clients on Morgan Stanley electronic trading platforms.

• Research and develop trading strategies based on transaction data and market data, to increase or target trading activities and facilitate client service.
• Create bespoke data‑driven content to highlight the value/performance offered by Morgan Stanley trading tools, including opportunities for direct client presentations/interaction.
• Partner closely with traders, sales, fellow strategists/modelers and IT groups to deliver solutions for FXEM in the Fixed Income Division.

What we’re looking for:

• Excellent quantitative skills in data analysis.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in statistics, computer science or another mathematically literate discipline.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experienced idea generator, able to pitch ideas internally and externally.
• Familiarity with statistical modelling, regression techniques, and core machine‑learning concepts.
• Proficiency in Python or another programming language used for data analysis.
• Knowledge of Q/KDB+.
• Time series analysis.
• Experience with order placement, microstructure and order‑books.
• Experience with foreign exchange or Interest Rates markets.

Certifications & Regulatory Requirements

This role is deemed a Certified role and may require the holder to maintain mandatory regulatory qualifications or meet internal company benchmarks.
