Family Practice (300-1006)

Overview

Quadra Island Medical Clinic, located on beautiful Quadra Island, which is a 10‑minute ferry crossing from Campbell River, is looking for a full‑time family physician. The clinic acts as a hub for Primary Care services and is part of the local Primary Care Network.

The clinic offers laboratory services twice a week, on‑site ECG and Holter monitors, and includes an in‑house social worker and a regular visiting mental health nurse and clinical pharmacist.

Current status: The current family physician is reducing services and panel size. The new physician will assume a partial panel and attach new patients from several hundred unattached patients locally.

The role will operate alongside a Nurse Practitioner. The Quadra Island Health Society manages the day‑to‑day operations and employs an office manager and MOAs.

Overheads

Overheads are negotiated as an annual fixed sum, currently around 25%.

Benefits

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:

• Recruitment Incentive: up to a maximum of $10,000 (pro‑rated based on FTE)
• Relocation: up to a maximum of $15,000 (amount based on location relocating from)
• Fee Premium 9.98%
• Annual Flat Fee $15,458.40
• Rural CME $2,200/annum for years 3‑4 in community, increasing to a maximum of $4,400/annum after 4 years
