Offer Description

Focused thesis topic. Family commitment.

A brief explanation .

The notion of family commitment covers the various aspects of family life, within a couple or between a parent and child.

When we think of family commitment, we see, underneath the sum of obligations (alimony, etc.), a founding act of the family, in its unity and in its variations: unilateral or reciprocal commitment, spontaneous or reflected, formal or informal... Doctoral research will go beyond these examples alone and explore the variety of family commitments, adapting to the multiple realities of family structures.

Viewed through the prism of legal pluralism, is family commitment just as certain for each of these adult members? Family commitment depends on the creation of legal and social ties between the members of a family, including marriage, PACS, cohabitation, filiation and so on.

The thesis will analyse the genesis of family commitment and its recognition by third parties. The emergence of this commitment will make it possible to measure what is essential to the formation of family ties through legal acts and de facto situations, presiding over various obligations and solidarities.
