Faculty Physician - Pediatric - Moses Cone Hospital

Overview

The Pediatric Teaching Program at Cone Health, an academic community hospital in Greensboro, NC, affiliated with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, seeks a pediatrician to join its faculty of 10 physicians. The faculty physician will work as part of a team to facilitate excellent patient care, superior teaching, and impactful research.

Location

Greensboro, North Carolina – a family‑friendly and diverse mid‑size city with a population of 300,000, offering excellent schools, parks, and cultural events.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Serve as a clinician‑educator to residents and students in three venues: the newborn nursery, an 18‑bed pediatric ward with over 2,000 admissions each year, and a resident acute care clinic.
• Lead a team of pediatric and family medicine trainees on the ward.
• Participate in call coverage approximately once every seven nights.
• Perform didactic teaching, mentoring, and quality improvement projects.
• Support the teaching service staffed by in‑house neonatologists, PICU physicians, subspecialists, and an ambulatory clinic.

Qualifications

• BC/BE in Pediatrics or Med/Peds.
• Outstanding clinical skills and teaching expertise.
• Board certification in pediatric hospital medicine is not required.
• Eligible for a faculty appointment at the UNC School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics at the assistant, associate, or full professor level.

Work Schedule

Day/Night Rotation. Full‑time (40 hours per week). On call required.
