Role Description
This full-time, on-site Facility Engineer role focuses on the technical and operational performance of ThunderLink’s data center facilities. In this position, you will act as the technical guardian of the site, monitoring and maintaining critical infrastructure systems (power, cooling, HVAC, low-voltage electricity, and environmental controls) to ensure 24/7 uptime, safety, and compliance with client and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- On-Site Operations & Monitoring: Perform 5×7 on-site duties to monitor platform alarm settings, system availability, and overall facility stability.
- Inspections & Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, review maintenance/repair Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and coordinate preventive maintenance to optimize operational efficiency and capacity management.
- Incident Management: Respond swiftly to infrastructure incidents following Emergency Operation Procedures (EOP). Arrive on-site promptly outside standard working hours when required to quickly locate faults and restore services.
- Change & Capacity Management: Independently create and execute change MOPs ensuring zero operational downtime. Collaborate with IT teams on capacity planning and support equipment installations or upgrades.
- Data & Documentation: Maintain 100% accurate infrastructure logs, asset tracking, and operational reports.
Profile Required
Education & Experience
- Education: Higher education degree (Bac+2 / Bac+3 equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, HVAC, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in critical infrastructure operations, specifically within a Data Center (IDC) environment.
Core Competencies & Skills
- Strong technical grasp of critical environments (HVAC, high/low voltage electrical systems).
- Excellent logical thinking, trouble‑shooting capabilities, and stress resilience during real-time incidents.
- Strong collaboration skills for working across multiple local and remote teams.
- Languages: Professional proficiency in French AND English is required. Proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) is a strong asset for cross‑region coordination.
