Join Nexans and become part of a team of experts dedicated to improving cable manufacturing processes. As part of our growth, we are creating a new Extrusion Process Engineer position to support our manufacturing sites in optimizing their industrial performance.
You will work in an international, collaborative, and innovative environment at the crossroads of R&D, manufacturing, simulation, and industrial testing.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As an Extrusion Process Engineer, you will be recognized as a technical expert in cable manufacturing processes and will contribute directly to the performance of our industrial sites worldwide.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Analyze production data and provide process optimization recommendations.
- Perform numerical simulations of extrusion line components.
- Support manufacturing sites in solving complex industrial challenges, including:
- Increasing line speed
- Reducing quality defects
- Solving ovality issues
- Reducing material self-heating
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in industrial trials to validate proposed technical solutions.
- Develop innovative process solutions using rheology, modeling, and simulation concepts.
- Act as the technical interface between manufacturing plants and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Purchasing, Industrial teams, and suppliers.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and best practices.
- Promote knowledge sharing and contribute to the development of team expertise.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education
Engineering degree in one of the following fields:
- Materials Engineering
- Polymer Science / Plastics Engineering
- Process Engineering
- Numerical Simulation
A PhD or specialization in Rheology or Materials Science would be considered a strong advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of polymer materials and rheological behavior.
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Catia, or equivalent tools.
- Expertise in numerical simulation and finite element analysis.
- Strong data analysis capabilities.
- Interest in correlating simulation results with real industrial performance.
- Professional level of English for international collaboration.
