Join Nexans and become part of a team of experts dedicated to improving cable manufacturing processes. As part of our growth, we are creating a new Extrusion Process Engineer position to support our manufacturing sites in optimizing their industrial performance.

You will work in an international, collaborative, and innovative environment at the crossroads of R&D, manufacturing, simulation, and industrial testing.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As an Extrusion Process Engineer, you will be recognized as a technical expert in cable manufacturing processes and will contribute directly to the performance of our industrial sites worldwide.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze production data and provide process optimization recommendations.
  • Perform numerical simulations of extrusion line components.
  • Support manufacturing sites in solving complex industrial challenges, including:
    • Increasing line speed
    • Reducing quality defects
    • Solving ovality issues
    • Reducing material self-heating
    • Driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in industrial trials to validate proposed technical solutions.
  • Develop innovative process solutions using rheology, modeling, and simulation concepts.
  • Act as the technical interface between manufacturing plants and cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, Purchasing, Industrial teams, and suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and best practices.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and contribute to the development of team expertise.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education

Engineering degree in one of the following fields:

  • Materials Engineering
  • Polymer Science / Plastics Engineering
  • Process Engineering
  • Numerical Simulation

A PhD or specialization in Rheology or Materials Science would be considered a strong advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of polymer materials and rheological behavior.
  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Catia, or equivalent tools.
  • Expertise in numerical simulation and finite element analysis.
  • Strong data analysis capabilities.
  • Interest in correlating simulation results with real industrial performance.
  • Professional level of English for international collaboration.
