Export Control Junior

Overview

Renault s.a.s. seeks an Export Control Junior in the Global Export Control function. Under the supervision of the Group Export Control Officer, the role ensures deployment of the export control and sanctions compliance program within the scope of responsibility, protecting the group, its employees and partners through adherence to applicable export control regulations. The department is dynamic, with evolving regulations and transversal collaboration across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Monitor export control and sanctions regulations (EU and U.S.) and support the ongoing activities of the trainee, acting as back-up as needed; coordinate with local regulatory requirements by engaging the network of Export Control Referents in different countries where Renault Group operates and consolidate the results.
• Analyze newly identified regulatory requirements, share analyses with team members, translate them into action plans and processes, and inform network contacts (Ethics & Compliance, Legal, Treasury, Insurance) as appropriate.
• Establish and monitor due diligence actions on sensitive countries/products as required by authorities.
• Lead risk evaluations of the Export Control and sanctions function (risk mapping, KRIs).
• Assist the Group Export Control Officer in:
  • Defining the program for the Group in line with strategy and objectives.
  • Diffusing the Export Control culture within the company by building dissemination means and measuring impact.
  • Coordinating exchanges with other departments impacting export control to assess risks and ensure follow-up.
• Collaborate primarily with the Legal department for contract reviews (excluding brokers and importers) and to define Export Control and sanctions document templates required from vendors (Tiers).
• Work with Ethics & Compliance, Legal, Treasury and Insurance to ensure correct risk identification and assessment.
• Provide support to the Export Control Manager in coordinating activities within the network and serve as back-up when needed.

Cooperation & Stakeholders

Frequent collaboration with Legal, Finance, Compliance, Purchasing, Logistics and with various Renault Group entities in France and abroad.

Qualifications & Skills

• Knowledge of export control regulations and sanctions, and the ability to monitor ongoing regulatory developments in EU and U.S. contexts.
• Experience with risk assessment, risk mapping and key risk indicators (KRIs).
• Ability to translate regulatory changes into action plans and processes and to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong collaboration skills and adaptability in a transversal, evolving regulatory environment.
